No electricity at site. No one at gate. recreation.com states they cannot help you when you have a problem. Finally got in touch with a park ranger after driving around to find someone. park is knee high in grass. gate not being manned. gate left open at night and a lot of non campers driving thru. day use people squatting in our campsite. dead limbs not cleaned up. park is not being maintained. leash rule not enforced. other dogs coming into our camp that were not welcomed. it’s a free for all going on. we’ve been coming to this park for years.

I would not recommend camping spot 60. Our camping weekend started with us pulling up to our camping spot where about 5/6 vehicles and several people hanging out, in our paid for camping spot. We had to politely and awkwardly ask them to leave our camping spot. From there, we had to pay someone to borrow their mower to mow down the area we were staying. This spot provides absolutely no shade and to top it off by 8:30pm we were without power. We were up until 3am fighting with a generator that we had to drive over an hour away from Whitney to get. The park ranger did however get us setup at another spot the next day which was so great of him. But, setting up camp is work in itself. Doing it twice in one weekend, not so much fun.

Had my son's 18th birthday party here and it went great. Decided to stay a few more days here and enjoy the view of the lake from my camping spot. Very relaxing!

Beautiful Park for camping on Lake Whitney! Sunset is amazing. Very peaceful now but the boat ramps are closed due to flooding so it may be more populated and busy when that is open! 30 amp electric. Nice spots! 10 pm entry curfew! We have to move sadly because we are here for rodeo which we drive to and we can’t make it back by 10 pm. We learned the hard way! I learned when my flight here was delayed and my RV home is in the park with my family! The park is patrolled for security and we feel safe here. Hill County LEO drives by. Maybe making sure no one is trying to use the boat ramps! If you are fishing, be sure to have a license to fish.

This is probably the best site on this site of the campground. Did have to adjust in the site (moving further back) to get everything level, but if you stand off at a distance you can see where the level patch is (we're in a 35' MH). Great unobstructed view of the water, and neighboring sites are angled different providing great privacy on the camping side. Bathrooms are definitely dated, and water pressure in the bathrooms wasn't great. We ended up taking showers on the rig and using our dump buddy to go to the dump station (not too far away and a decent dump station).
