We really enjoy this park. Love the view of the lake, the camp sites are spacious and we like having the covered table area.

The park was nice and restrooms were clean. The information regarding multi vehicles at a camp site and day/boat ramp use should be made more clear. The park attendant indicated the day pass was included with the RV space, but our vehicle was flagged at the boat ramp indicating we needed to pay the day use fee. It would be very helpful if some form of paperwork could be provided at the time of check in to avoid this confusion,

Backing into site 25 tree limbs hanging too low and tore the roof of our 5th wheel.
Site needs to be more level and high drop off from blacktop to gravel . I was afraid of falling upon leaving camper. Used every piece of wood we had to level camper

We have been camping at McCowan Valley for about the last 15 years and have always had a great time. We always camp at the equestrian sites by the day ride facility because of the grass burrs that are all over the #2 equestrian campsites. There has always been portable bathrooms at this location for the day riders and overnight campers that does not have full service campers. These bathrooms have been removed leaving the only option was to unhook and drive down to the second equestrian campsite for a restroom.
We found this very inconvenient so we left after only staying one night of our reservation. We will not be going back till the problem had been resolved.

Please be advised that Field Grassburs exist in our parks. We are doing our best to implement a management plan to reduce the inundated areas. This plan may take several years in order to reduce the amount of Grassburs, but we are making every attempt to provide pleasant, safe, and healthy recreation opportunities. |
