I enjoyed my stay. BUT, there is one issue that occurs every time I go to McCown Valley. I bring my dog with me when I stay at the shelter. She's on a leash when we go for walks. There are several people that go for their daily walks with their dogs NOT on a leash. Several years ago my dog was attacked by a dog that was not restrained. Luckily I had my walking stick.

Camped many times. Easy to make reservations online and got gate code with reservation. Camp hosts are always touring the campground and met with me to let me know that the burn ban was lifted. Very quiet and met nice neighbors. Will be back soon.

Park was very clean, and quiet. People were walking their dogs and we saw deer.

Everything was clean, and we didn’t see any dogs off leash.
Leash laws are very important to us. We have dogs and I’m afraid of unleashed dogs running up to our dogs. That are always on a leash.

Our campsite was perfect. Had good shade tree and kids park next to our camper.

For the second time in three years we have damaged the roof of our RV due to low hanging limbs. I contacted the Whitney COE Office and talked to a lady who was caring and said she was sorry - but I needed to talk to a Park Ranger and one was not available. She took my name and phone number and said she would give this information to a Park Ranger and I would be contacted later. That was October 9th and no one has called or emailed me. I love the COE Parks - but I am quickly losing my love for these parks due to ""unexplained closures with reservations canceled and money returned"" and Park Personnel who will not take time to answers concerns. Very unhappy customer!!!

My grandkids enjoyed the playgrounds. We liked the size of the camp sites and the convenience of the boat ramp.

Had a reservation for site 63. The shelter was very clean and the view of the lake is outstanding.

Please be advised that Field Grassburs exist in our parks. We are doing our best to implement a management plan to reduce the inundated areas. This plan may take several years in order to reduce the amount of Grassburs, but we are making every attempt to provide pleasant, safe, and healthy recreation opportunities. |

McCown Valley Park has a security gate for the 0-54 camping loop. Campers should receive a code with their reservation. This code does not grant after-hours access to the park. |
