Great place to just relax and gather with friends! Only con: gates don’t open until 10am. If you have to run to town early, you can’t get back in!

Very clean. Very quite. It is a basic camp area but very nice and well kept. The gates lock at 10pm SO be aware you CANNOT enter the park after 10pm. Gates do not reopen till 10am. Yep, we stayed there 4th of July weekend, enjoyed fireworks in Farmers Branch with family. When we returned at 11pm, gates locked. We had to leave our vehicle at the front gate and walk to our rv. That was a bummer! We will stay at this camp again because it is near our kids.

It was a very peaceful and relaxing experience. We enjoyed having a fire in the fire pit. Thankful to be able to use the dump station when we left

The campground is poorly maintained and looks very rundown. The grass was not mowed, so campers were weed eating and mowing their own campsites. It’s been like this every time we’ve camped here. It’s unfortunate because we have our boat in a slip nearby, so it’s convenient. We’ll be going back to one of our favorite campgrounds Hickory Creek.

Due to heavy rains, some sites we’re underwater but ours was good. No complaints.

Pros:
1. Good space between campsites.
2. Friendly staff.
3. Clean restroom and showers.
4. Campsite was very quiet, except for day use. I believe this was because the mosquitos and chiggers are so bad people stay in their RV’s.
Cons:
1. Bugs infestation. Mosquitos, ants, chiggers, flying knats. If you thing you fog, use zappers, etc. and get rid of these, your totally wrong!
2. Grass is not maintained at all. They had a zero turn mower on site, where they need a tractor with a bush hog. Standing water everywhere, including your camp space and around bathrooms.
3. Unleveled RV spaces, pot holes in the drive area. Terribly maintained RV park.
4. Water and electric only. One dump station outside of gate. And gate closes 10pm to 10am. So if you need to dump between this hours, good luck 🤔
5. The entire shoreline is the day user area. They pretty much occupy all the lake.

The location to the city it very nice. Other than that we had a poor experience. The grass was very tall and this led to a huge infestation of chigger bites. My son, father and I are all miserable now trying to control the itch of these miserable mites. I understand wanting to protect campers inside the camp but locking the gate and not allowing exit after 10pm is crazy! The view of the water was nice but there wasn’t easy access to the lake. Hoping the facility will read these and upkeep the grounds so that the campers can try to prevent chiggers as much as possible.

Campground was quiet and we had a very beautiful lake view. However, the grounds weren’t mowed or kept up the way we are used to at other campgrounds. The grass/weeds was at least knee height everywhere surrounding the small patch of gravel, some places the grass was even higher. Not sure that we would chose this campground on Lake Lavon again.

Had to maneuver our 34 ft fifth wheel around a dumpster that was sticking partially into our drive-way. And I was thinking that the grass was very high. Ladies at the gate were quite friendly though.

Front Gate attendant was very friendly and helpful. When we showed up to park the RV, there was still someone parked in the lot. The attendant was very helpful locating the person to move the RV. Good electrical connection and water supply.
The grass was very tall and had not been cut in a long time. The day camp areas along the lake are run down and the grills are all rusted out. The playground by the group area is gone, does not exist anymore. I don't know if it was removed but no playground area anymore.
