About Pine Valley Recreation Area

Pine Valley Recreation Area is situated in a beautiful valley surrounded by the Pine Valley Mountains. There are several campgrounds with sites for single families, large groups, motorhomes, and horses. At an elevation of 6,900 feet the valley offers a great escape from the heat of the Southern Utah desert. Visitors enjoy fishing at nearby Pine Valley Reservoir and exploring local trails.

I love that Pine Valley is so close from St George so I can get in the mountains, trees, wildlife, cooler weather!! And the camp ground is always neat and clean. Love it !!

This was our third time camping at Dean Gardner and it never fails; we have an amazing time. Camp hosts are always friendly and helpful. Restrooms are always upkept and clean. The family has a great time fishing. Love this place and we will always be back!

Map of the Dean Gardner campsite is wrong on the web site. @ 10 campsite is in the wrong place.
Campground host was not as professional as you would hope when he rudely cut off one of our family members as he was just preparing to back into his campsite. I guess he was driving a vehicle that was similar to one in the area that had been suspected of some criminal behavior. Could have been kinder to get the info he needed. But we did have a good time, in spite.

The campsite was really clean. The restrooms were clean. There’s firewood for sale at the site and plenty of hikes and fishing in the area.
