What Guests Are Saying
Summit View Campground offers a pleasant camping experience with clean facilities and beautiful mountain scenery, making it ideal for large groups and outdoor activities like ATV riding. However, it lacks water availability and garbage disposal, which has been an ongoing issue for the past two years, causing inconvenience for visitors. Despite these drawbacks, the campground is well-maintained, and the camp host is friendly and helpful, enhancing the overall experience.

Campground was great. Only thing that we didn’t enjoy was the kids doing laps around the campground on motor cycles. Very noisy and created slot of dust

It was very nice. However, the toilets were severally low. I have a bad knee and could not get up from it.
They were terribly stinky. The handicap toilet was fine but had to drive to it.

We had some kids come into the campground racing their atv's. after the third time I had to chase them down and tell them to stop. They should not have even been riding in the campground. Also the people using the ground site kept driving fast in the campground as well and with the dry conditions it cause a lot of dust. I don't understand why people feel they have to rush through the campgrounds. We enjoys the Summit View campground!

This is easily one of the most beautiful campsites, but the bees/flies were horrid. The flies were huge and bite hard enough to draw blood. Bees are all over. Whenever we would cook they overwhelmed us. Bathrooms weren't great at all but for some reason the group sites have better bathrooms. It was frustrating that there are no dumpsters on site at all. Campsite host did not interact with us at all, for better or worse. We really loved the scenery- the trees and wildflowers were stunning.
I was disappointed because there wasn't much to do right in the area- we trekked down to Bear Lake every day to find somewhere to stay. Oh and go the speed limit very carefully, because the cops will give you a ticket for going 5 over on the road in. Happened to 2 in our group.

Beautiful surroundings. Lots of ATV traffic on the nearby road. Sites were very clean and well maintained. Toilets were very clean.

Beautiful campground. Peaceful and scenic. Cleanest restrooms I've ever seen.

This was our first time here and we will definitely return. Beautiful area that provides a nice break from the heat of summer. So many trails to explore! The camp host went above and beyond to welcome us and answer any questions we had. He even gave us a map of the trails in the area so we knew where we were at and where we wanted to go as we explored trails. We enjoyed trail rides, nature hikes, and just relaxing in our campsite. Overall one of our favorite camping trips!

There were bats flying around our camp during the day. They flew in our tent and into our sleeping bag. Had to get the camp host and also fish and game. Pretty scary for all of us. Wre told they were also in the group area. We were the only campers there at that time. Should have been given a discount or free cramping under the circumstances. Wre also told we could not shoot our bb guns.

The campground host was very, very rude. He would tell my kids what they could do and not do in the campground. He also would always drive by our camp spot every few minutes just to see what we were doing. The day we were leaving he came and informed us about checking out of our spot by 12:00. There was nobody else even in the campground. We have never had a host in Summit View until this year. Hopefully he won't be back next year or we won't be staying there again!!

The group site we picked (#16) was very good and shady. The only thing that was a little bit of an issue was the lack of good tent sites. Nothing was really level and every mostly level site was very bumpy. Still, it is the mountains so we understand that and had a good camp. We just got spoiled by the camp we used to go to that had groomed tent sites.
The camp host was very nice and communicated very well with us about any issues or just being friendly without being interfering or annoying.
It was a good camp site and we had a good experience.
