Summit View Campground

Everything was great except one thing: The water faucets are not working and haven't for at least 2 years according to what I was told. If I was notified of that fact didn't see it. How about charging a lot less to compensate??? And notifying us? It is quite inconvenient to plan on having water when there is none.

I reserved all 3 of the group sites for our family camping trip July 24-30. I reserved all 3 sites because Recreation .gov says that group site 14 will hold 5 trailers and 25 people, the same with 16. 15 is supposed to hold 10 trailers and 50 people. These are highly exaggerated estimates so I reserve all 3 so others don't come and be disappointed because there is not room for as many as they anticipate. I recommend that anyone anticipating reserving these group sites, visit the campground so you know what reality is. This year there was no potable water available and I was not notified of this until we were there and it was too late to change plans. I love the campground, especially group site 15, but it is expensive to reserve all 3 sites just to keep it a pleasant experience for our family without others coming in and overcrowding the area.

Nice area.

Great site with tall trees and consistent shade (which was awesome considering the high temps this year) with very clean facilities. The camp host was extremely kind and checked in after some storms. I WILL camp here again!

We always seem to enjoy camping at Summit View campground. Clyde, the Camp Host was very good to work with and we enjoyed visiting with him. I was very disappointed to find out that there was not water available at the camp ground. I had a friend camp there a couple of weeks before we arrived and if he would not have done this and found out that there was not water, we would have gone camping unprepared!! BRING WATER!!

The visit was good, however, because of the water being unavailable due to a break in the main supply line, it was inconvenient.

It was absolutely beautiful area. The road getting there could use a little work. Other than that I had a good time

Clean, picturesque!

Very beautiful area to camp. Nice gravel parking. Water available if needed. Mild daytime temperatures, mid 80s. It got down to 39 on our last night which made for a great night sleep. We did have a major hailstorm one night but the next morning the grounds were not muddy and the riding was dust free. The only negative was the group campers were very disrespectful of the speed limit in the campground. All day for 2 days either atv’s, utvs, or cars would go back and forth constantly way to fast. We had to very careful about taking our dogs for a walk because of the speeding vehicles. Once the disrespectful campers left it was a peaceful enjoyable experience.
