Great camp sites and location to get away from it all. Love the small river running through it and plenty of sade from all the trees.

Pulled up to the site and found 8 to 10 cattle in our site. It was difficult to shoo them away, but they finally moved up to the next site. The cow chips were throughout our camp. It was tough walking around dodging them. They returned each day. Hiking up the trail to the spring there was a dead baby cow in the river, just above the 2nd bridge. It was removed by 2 cowboys from the ranchers assoc.. But it had been right in the creek, the same one just below that we were wading in, and further down were children playing in the river. The camp host did not clean the bathroom nor did he keep the toilet paper stocked. That you allow cattle in the campground is pathetic. I'll never come here again, and I've been going to willow flats for 50 years, but no more. And I'll pass on my recommendation to others to avoid it. Recreation.gov is letting our campgrounds decay at an alarming rate.

Let me simply say this. We LOVE Willow Flat campground. For our family, it is an annual event at least one weekend a year. We go more often if we can work it into our busy summer schedule. If we can only go camping one weekend per year, our choice is a resounding, "Willow Flat" campground. Can I be more clear?

Campsite needs some maintenance. The fire pit is full of ashes to the brim, bench is cracked and broken and there is a deadfall tree next to the main tent site. Bathrooms needed attention. One of our favorite campgrounds, please keep it welcoming!

We have been coming to Willow Flat for over forty years for our family reunion and we love it. I like that there isn’t any cell phone service. Our family pretty much takes up the whole loop B. My only complaint this year was the bathrooms were not kept as clean as normal. We’ll be back!

Awesome camp site with a cool creek nearby And beautiful scenery. Trailhead to BloomingtonLake was close and it was an awesome hike. Would totally recommend to anyone up for a hike with a lake at the end.

From Preston, Idaho, head south on U.S. Highway 91 for approximately 3 mi. Turn east on the Cub River Road (Forest Road 406) and travel 3 mi past the Cache National Forest boundary to the intersection of Forest Road 406 and Forest Road 407. Bear right at the intersection, staying on Forest Road 406, and travel over a mile to the campground.
Highway access
Willow Flat Campground is accessible via U.S. Highway 91, which is approximately 3 miles north of the campground.
Policies & Rules
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
