It was so beautiful there at the Flaming Gorge. Our family loved every minute of it. We found so many things to do, visitor centers, hiking and the water was perfect. The campsites and bathrooms were so clean, and plenty of space for tenting. We will definitely be back, for sure. Thankyou for such a wonderful time.

The camp host was OUTSTANDING : available, friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable - our biggest complaint is, really, with the website recreation.gov because we feel like the individual campsite descriptions are EXTREMELY misleading and VERY OFTEN totally incorrect : we make reservations six months in advance and we SPECIFICALLY reserve shaded sites as we flee the Texas summer heat - sadly, upon arrival, sites described as shaded are almost always in full sun - OUR SUGGESTION : update the website with true and accurate descriptions and include a photograph of each site taken at 3pm on a sunny day

VERY windy for tent camping which may explain why I was the only one in the tent area! Lots of room at the site I was at, plenty of pitching options. Some trees, mostly flat and grassy. Huge bonus is the Canyon Rim Trail adjacent to the campground, with stunning views and access for hikers, bikers and equestrians. Toilets nearest to my site were in dire need of some maintenance, barely tolerable to go into, and thankfully the wind was blowing the stench away from my site.

Very close to the canyon rim with outhouse and fresh water from scattered water stations.
I enjoyed being close to nature and the beautiful surroundings.
