Overall the stay was good, but this location should have a gate installed as many random people will drive into your camp throughout your stay. The cabins are both nice, but keep in mind it's a pair of cabins and lacks the seclusion of other cabin options in UT and WY.

Overall the stay was good, but this location should have a gate installed as many random people will drive into your camp throughout your stay. The cabins are both nice, but keep in mind it's a pair of cabins and lacks the seclusion of other cabin options in UT and WY.

dusty , beds hard ,worn out no blinds (broken ones only )or curtains, can see the cabin next door from dinning table so no privacy, mouse poo in drawe,r black mold in cupboard from leak above window in kitchen ,new stove no frig .back light flickers if kitchen lights on .bath room shower pipe is too short for hose on shower , some window screens don't fit so bugs get in .love the dwelling look of the place but needs t.l.c. ramp out back to door and tables were nice . lots of biting fly's outside ,dusty road to cabin ,

There was a major rodent problem. Mice droppings everywhere in the cabin. We saw 2 mice the first night. We went in to town the next morning and purchased 4 traps. We set them that night and caught 4 mice. There were still more. Very gross and won’t stay again.

From Fairview, Utah, for 8.5 miles proceed east on Utah Highway 31. Then turn east (left) to Utah highway 264 for .2 miles, then turn left (north) through the paved parking lot to the gravel road, then right (FS road 0124 downhill). You will pass the Gooseberry Campground sign, at the next intersection (FS road 0124) make a slight left and proceed through the gate. The Mammoth Cabin is first, the Lake Cabin is the third building.
From US Highway 6 take Utah Highway 96 south through Scofield then onto Utah 264 west for 15 miles. Prior to the junction of Utah 31 and Utah 264 there is a large paved parking lot. Turn north and proceed to the gravel road, then right (FS road 0124 downhill). You will pass the Gooseberry Campground sign, at the next intersection (FS road 0124) make a slight left and proceed through the gate. The Mammoth Cabin is first, the Lake Cabin is the third building.
The Mammoth Cabin is accessible via Utah Highway 31, which connects to US Highway 6 approximately 15 miles to the northwest. Utah Highway 264 also provides access, running east-west near the cabin.

Policies & Rules
General
- A combination key code is required to open the lock on the cabin door(s); at least three days prior to arrival, call the Ferron Ranger District office at (435) 384-2372 or Sanpete Ranger District at (435) 283-4151 on Monday through Friday, between , to obtain the code.
- If not reserved, the dwelling and cabin are available on a first-come, first-served basis through Forest Service offices in Ephraim, Ferron or Price.
- Walk-in reservations may only be made for two nights at a time in order to maintain a priority for reservations. Reservations are recommended.
- Cell service is not available.
- Don't Move Firewood: Prevent the spread of tree-killing organisms by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. For more information visit Dontmovefirewood.org.
- Travel Trailers and RVs are not permitted at this facility. If others are seeking to be close to your group during your reservation they should look at the nearby campgrounds at Gooseberry Group Campground and Gooseberry Reservoir.
- This guard station is solar powered, please use wisely. Turn off lights that aren't in use. Power is for lights and phone charging only.
