We really enjoy Sunrise campground because it has very spacious areas, and it is close to Bear Lake and Garden City. The camp host was great and did a great job keeping the campground up. The campground itself needs a little attention. The road going in could use being re-paved as there are some good sized pot holes. Maybe even update the toilets some would be nice as our young children don't like the smell.

Camp host was very helpful and kind. Called to let us know we had left something in the yurt after we had gone. Beautiful spot to camp. Yurt was better than I was expecting. We love to camp but having a bed off the ground was wonderful. Very clean and comfortable.

There wasn't a lot of shade and the parking areas were hard to back into.
It is a beautiful area. Peaceful.
We have never come across a more rude camp host than the one that is currently up there July 2022. She was very rude and abrupt. That was a damper on our trip, but didn't ruin it. Maybe she was just having a bad day.

We always have a great trip when we camp at Sunrise Campground. It's so close to the Garden City and the lake. We always go to the public beach at the South end of the lake between Ideal Beach and Rendezvous Beach. The water was down a LOT from last year so everyone was driving down onto the beach.... and getting stuck. We were fine but we have a 4x4 pickup. Driving onto the sand isn't a good idea in a 2 wheel drive vehicle. Some people asked us to try to pull them out but we don't carry a rope or anything.

They only had one water faucet for the whole campground. Other than that it was a great spot.

When we arrived we found out that even though the reservation was for a 30 foot trailer , it was impossible to park that size trailer. The camp host informed us that this camp ground only accommodates trailers up to 24' , But he did help us find a boondock site and saved our weekend, Recreation.gov needs to be clearer on exactly what the total trailer length + tow vehicle length is on the reservations. just the cost of towing a trailer that far could have been a disaster if not for the Kindness of the camp host .
