What Guests Are Saying

Aspen Grove offers a stunning natural setting with close proximity to water and beautiful surroundings, making it a favorite for many campers. However, several reviews highlight issues with maintenance, including unsafe picnic tables, poor road conditions, and a lack of amenities like electric service and water access. While some campers appreciate the friendly hosts and clean facilities, concerns about weeds and tight camping spots suggest room for improvement in upkeep and site management.

What a beautiful location. Too bad the condition of the place is mediocre at best. The picnic tables are a safety hazard, no screws or bolts held either the table tops or the benches. Parking stops are falling apart, the entire road needs to be paved again. Is this an actual GOV owned area outsourced to a contract entity??? Who is tasked with the maintenance of this place? They need to be fired. It's sad that you're charged so much for a location that does not provide any electric, water or sewer. I 'm a disabled Veteran and was not afforded the discount price for my Park pass???
Someone from the GOV inspection agency needs to investigate this location. Sad that our GOV resources are allowed to degrade to this level of decay.

The area is beautiful. The bees were out of control. Bring a flyswatter for each person. The camping spots are narrow and right next to neighbors. You can hear them talking in normal conversation volume. The sites lack enough tent space. We had to set up a tent on the driveway/asphalt. The camp hosts were friendly and helpful. It's very close to the water. Several of the sites do not have shade. Overall, it's a nice area, but we want a different site for next year with more room and privacy.

Nice campground, well hosted. Could use hookups or at least a dump station

I love this campground and have been going there for years. It’s close to the lake, but far enough away to get you away from the boat engines and all that comes along with them. i.e.-fumes and noise.
Downside of the campground:
The BURRRRS! This campground is getting run down (picnic table) and THE WEEDS ARE OUT OF CONTROL. The plant is called ‘hounds tongue’ or Cynoglossum officinale L. It’s everywhere, along with stinging nettle in some campsite locations. This stuff will leave a NASTY rash on your skin if touched.
The owners really need to get serious about cleaning up the site…. I was there recently and I’m still picking the burs off of my dog. Very disappointing!
