What Guests Are Saying

South Fork offers a beautiful camping experience with clean campsites, easy access to the river, and stunning scenery. Many visitors appreciate the spacious sites, proximity to reservoirs, and friendly camp hosts, contributing to a peaceful atmosphere. However, some concerns include overgrown areas, occasional cleanliness issues with restrooms, and noise from nearby campsites. Overall, it remains a favored destination for campers.

We have camped here in the past, this was our first time with a camper. More enjoyable especially with the rain, wind and on Sunday the rain mixed with snow. I do hope the major potholes on Loop B will be filled in this year. On a side note, was looking forward to seeing Stewart, enjoyed conversing with him.

We used camp sites 6 and 7. They worked out well for us with plenty of space for our tent. However there were few trees and little shade so we brought a pop-up tent shade.

11A is supposed to be for handicap accessability, but this was one of the most unfriendly sites for a handicap, and is not friendly to back into with a trailer of 24ft in length or longer. The road is paved with boulders and trees, so the room needed to manage the backin is very difficult so you can position your trailer close to the cement pad. The cement pad is in need of repair, as well as the fire pit needs to be redone. So FYI pick another campsite as this is ok for people with tents or a small pop up , plus when we got there there was a truck and a car in our site and we had to go find the host.

The campground is beautiful. Nice sites along the river or if you like cool and shady there are beautiful spots along the mountain side. The Camp Host was the BEST! Hope he comes back again next year.

Camp host (Stew) is a very friendly/helpful person. Enjoyed my interaction with him. Have camped here before and was surprised at how quite it can be, even with the road so close. We will camp here again. Just a suggestion, signs should be posted at the entrance or on the reservation site that not all dogs are suitable for camping. Our last night one site away, they had two large dogs that barked when the wind blew or someone walked past.

This site, and the general area of this valley that Causey Reservoir sits it, is quite exposed, dry and dusty. The campsites have poured concrete slabs around the fire pits and table giving it the feel of of a park as opposed to a nature retreat. The host was very nice and the area was clean, but the sites are quite close together and very few have any shade. #10 looked nice with campsite access to the river, and a few surrounding trees. We also explored some of the dirt roads in the surrounding areas and there were some sketchy looking dwellings with spray-painted "keep out" signs that looked reminiscent of trailer meth labs. I probably wouldn't camp in this general area again.

Love this place to kick back and relax. The camp host Stew was amazing. I've never seen a busier, more through host than Stew. He was friendly and helpful and you can tell he loves what he is doing. If there is a problem he takes care of it and does a fantastic job of keeping the place under control. Southfork is a great place for those who want to float down the river or just relax in camp and listen to nature. This is our go to place to stay when going to the Ogden Valley Balloon Festival. This year is was cancelled but we still went up to Southfork to relax for a couple of days.
