Arrival and check-in were easy, bathrooms were clean and well-maintained, but don't plan to camp with tents here. The entire camp site area was covered in prickly bushes, with no clear sites to pitch a tent. We wrapped our hands in paper towels and pulled up more than 20 bushes to clear space for our tents. Even then we were wading through stickers to get from our tents to the picnic tables or the bathroom. This campground doesn't seem to care about people not staying in RVs.

Shade is important for those in tents or without vehicular air conditioning because even in September it was quite warm during the day. The A loop did not appear to have much shade. Many of the sites in B and C loops had some shade. River access was nice and a good place to wade and cool off. Trail north out of campground to split mountain site was nice for an evening walk after the sun was low enough to provide shade. It would probably be nice early morning. The sound of silence hike was very much worth it. But, important to start early. The petroglyphs toward Josie Morris were amazing. In general the desert was breath taking.

Nothing special campground. The only water available was from drinking fountain faucet without hose fitting.

This is a lovely campground right on the Green River with lots of tall shade trees. I was worried it would be too hot while we were there - it was in the upper 80’s in the afternoons but it felt very pleasant at the campground. There is access to the river where you can wade in the water to cool off too. The kids had a great time playing at the water’s edge. The scenery is typical Utah beautiful and the dinosaur exhibit and surrounding petroglyphs are spectacular.

People camping across from us ran their generator from 4pm until quiet hours started. Incredibly annoying. Generators should be BANNED!!
