We reserved a spot at Lost Creek on a Monday and Tuesday night in late August. There wer no other campers in our loop of the campground. The site was beautiful. The weather was lovely with a hint of fall. It rained very lightly a couple of times and got a little chilly. Our overall experience was peaceful and serene. I'm sure there was a throng of campers later in the week, toward Labor Day. Reserving a spot away from holidays seems to be the ticket.

I have camped here twice this year. Such a relaxing experience with the stream flowing and the beautiful area. Fun hikes around the lake and in the area. It my favorite spot. I will be back again

Some sites are very tight. If you are using an RV check out the sites before you go.

Wonderful spot for summer camping -- good weather, plenty of shade, and streams and lakes near by. We loved camping there with our kids.

The Campground is set among pine trees, wildflowers, and a prestine lake. Stayed in mid August and the weather was perfect. Mid 70's during the day and low 40's at night. She 29 was a great spot. Took a little maneuvering to get our 24' TT in with the very narrow causeway and creek beds on both sides, but it was worth it. I didn't see any camp host. The Campground was not crowded due to mid week camping. The hike down to the lake is beautiful and well worth it. Even though the water level is quite low, it still is majestic. At a little over 10k foot elevation, keeping hydrated is key. Highly recommend this Campground.

We love this campground and have been coming here for years. We arrived at 9 pm the first night of our reservation and the camp host had given away one of our sites. The squatters was a cute family with little kids and we didn't want to force them out after 9 when they were fully set up and getting to bed. It was a terrible situation. Luckily, we were tent camping in that site and could easily put our tent up in the other site we had reserved as well. However, I think this experience can be summed up in the words of Jerry Seinfeld. "You see, you know how to *take* the reservation, you just don't know how to *hold* the reservation. And that's really the most important part of the reservation: the holding. Anybody can just take them." Next time, I hope there's a camp host there who understands what a reservation really is.

Several items:
1) the trash was not picked up soon enough
2) TP in restroom was empty many times
3) there are three places along the loop with huge pot holes. I’ve been coming to Lost Creek for years and these holes have never been repaired.
At $24 per night, the US Forest Service should address these issues
