What Guests Are Saying
Soapstone Campground offers a pleasant and peaceful experience, making it a favorite for many visitors, especially those looking for a quiet retreat close to Salt Lake Valley. The sites are well-shaded, spacious, and located near the Provo River, which provides opportunities for fishing and exploring. However, some amenities need improvement, such as restroom cleanliness and the presence of a campground host for emergencies, as well as challenges for larger RVs regarding access to certain sites.

We love Soapstone campground, site 12 was fine, there was room for one larger tent, but there was not much shade in the afternoon. We brought a pop up shade canopy, and that worked nicely. Also, there is not room to sit all the way around the fire, it's close to a tree. There are places to hang at least 3 or 4 hammocks.

We were enthusiastically greeted by someone each night we were there. The representative was concerned about our camping experience and offered any help they could provide. The bathrooms were cleaned regularly and were as functional as they could be. Our camp site was clean when we arrived.

Site 10 is in an area that allows no vehicles. This was not clear when we made the reservation. We had a truck tent that we could not use as we could not drive to the site. Everything also has to be carried to this site. The camp manager was awesome and took great care of us and got us a new site. They went above and beyond!

Liss was excellent!
I do wish the USFS would open Loop A and fix the broken water pipes however.

Very friendly camp host gave us map of area (never was given one on previous visits). Because of that map we found trail head at mile 31 & experienced the most beautiful trail with the most gorgeous & diverse display of wild flowers we have ever seen. So thankful for the gift of that map. We love the spacing between camp sites.
