What Guests Are Saying
Soapstone Campground offers a pleasant and peaceful experience, making it a favorite for many visitors, especially those looking for a quiet retreat close to Salt Lake Valley. The sites are well-shaded, spacious, and located near the Provo River, which provides opportunities for fishing and exploring. However, some amenities need improvement, such as restroom cleanliness and the presence of a campground host for emergencies, as well as challenges for larger RVs regarding access to certain sites.

The campground is perfectly located in the middle of all the Uintas have to offer. The host campground Liss is incredible! She's very friendly, had lots of recommendations as far as exploring the mountains and kept the place very neat and clean. Soapstone (and Liss) THANK YOU! I will be back.

Not having water at the campground is a pain. Typically we can go just down the road about a mile to the dump station but there was no water there either so I had to drive into kamas for bottled water.

Staff was friendly...... our camp site was really close to the hwy and most of them are - there are no trees to make a barrier.... it was very distracting and felt like I was camped on the side of the road... I would not go back.

We love Soapstone. Not too hot and not too cold. Plenty of shade and close to Provo River. Close to the highway but not too much noise. Halfway between Kamas, UT and the mountain pass. Campsites and bathrooms are clean. Just hoping that potable water will be restored sooner than later.
