I have had fishing gear stolen out of my boat the last two years over the 4th of July when left on the shore near the swim beach. More security would be valuable. It is difficult to get secure a campsite on many weekends. Probably no solution to that.

Our favorite campground, we go there every year! It is right on the shores of Flaming Gorge, campsites are spacious, mature pines provide some shade. Excellent atmosphere, close to Dutch John to run over for some basic supplies.

Excellent campground and hosts. We noticed very clean restrooms. Water spigots are placed at odd places and on busy roads. ( blocking others while you put water in your RV) we used 2 x50 ft hoseMaybe install a dedicated water spigot for RV in a better accessible place.

From Vernal, take U.S. 191 north for 51 miles. Three miles north of Dutch John on U.S. 191, turn west onto Forest Road 184 and travel approximately 2 miles to the campground.
From Manila, Utah, take Highway 44 for 28 miles. Turn left on U.S. 191 and go north for about 13 miles, passing through Dutch John. Three miles north of Dutch John on U.S. 191, turn west onto Forest Road 184 and travel approximately 2 miles to the campground.
From Rock Springs, Wyoming, take I-80 west toward Green River about 6 miles to the junction with U.S. 191/Flaming Gorge Road. Take U.S. 191 south for about 59 miles toward Dutch John. Three miles north of Dutch John on U.S. 191, turn west onto Forest Road 184 and travel approximately 2 miles to the campground.

The single site fee covers the cost of 1 vehicle. Each single site's maximum capacity is 2 vehicles. There will be an extra vehicle fee for the second vehicle collected on site. 2 vehicles = 1 sleeping unit (trailer, pop-up, pickup camper, RV, etc) + 1 passenger vehicle or 2 passenger vehicles. There is not room for 2 sleeping units. |
