The camping area was amazing. I had camped here long ago before everything was paved. It was a good campground then. Now amazing. The only drawback was we went when it was really hot. It is cooler at the campground than in the valleys below but in a heatwave, it's hot here too. The evenings cooled down and we enjoyed them.

We enjoyed this campsite. We ended up at spot 22. It does have stairs to get to the tent spot/fire pit, so just be aware of that. However, I did end up preferring this area as it was just far enough away from the road that we didn't really notice the people driving by. Not that it's a busy road (it's the one way loop you take around Tree Army to get to the camp sites), but it was nice to be away from it.
The people who run the place were very nice. I met one of the ladies in charge the first day when I arrived and she was kind and helpful with information. The rate for an extra vehicle (my site was 1 vehicle only) is $10/day. There are some water spouts around, but they do not want you using them for cleaning/prepping food or dishes. The site locks down at 10pm and opens are 7am. I would definitely return again!

This campground was the perfect place for our family reunion. Close to trails and lakes for fun things to do.

Camp site was nice and clean. Bathrooms also clean and stocked. Firepit metal ring was corroded but serviceable. The table had a large hole in the center of it. The parking pad was difficult to work with - it was not level side-to-side or front-to-back, especially front-to-back. Required considerable effort and significant extra blocks to get the trailer level. Water was readily available. Camp hosts were very nice and informative.

Granite Flat is a very popular campground for good reason. Our campsite (#58) we had to walk back to (tent only) it was a little far but not bad 100% worth it. We were right next to a little stream that my kids loved playing in. Best part, we were away from the road and all the noise from other campers (nothing like being up in the peaceful mountains listening to everyone’s generator). It really felt like a little slice of heaven.
