Camp site was nice and clean. Bathrooms also clean and stocked. Firepit metal ring was corroded but serviceable. The table had a large hole in the center of it. The parking pad was difficult to work with - it was not level side-to-side or front-to-back, especially front-to-back. Required considerable effort and significant extra blocks to get the trailer level. Water was readily available. Camp hosts were very nice and informative.

Granite Flat is a very popular campground for good reason. Our campsite (#58) we had to walk back to (tent only) it was a little far but not bad 100% worth it. We were right next to a little stream that my kids loved playing in. Best part, we were away from the road and all the noise from other campers (nothing like being up in the peaceful mountains listening to everyone’s generator). It really felt like a little slice of heaven.

We go every year to Granite Flats! Love the shade this area provides. Great for families. But this was the second year a skunk waddled into the site at night. No inhibitions. It’s clear they come for the food. So have the site cleaned up by 8:30 PM and that seems to be what prevents the unwanted visitors from making an appearance.

I have no real complaints about the campgrounds, there were plenty of water spigots and the grounds were well maintained. The hosts that were there during my trip in July of 2021 were very pleasant and helpful (I believe they were the Hansen's). However, the UTV's and side by sides that travel up the road to Silver Lake Reservoir are so extremely loud it really ruins the ambiance of camping. People start heading up to Silver Lake as early as 6 am and they don't stop until after dark. All you can hear throughout the entire campground is the roaring engines of UTV's and other recreational vehicles during the day going up that road. It was so loud that I, unfortunately, will never go back to this campground.

We used Stone Mason, one of the group sites at Granite Flat and arrived around 2:30 for an evening Family reunion. We used a couple of pop up shade canopies because the sun angle makes this site pretty hot during the mid-day hours. The site is set between to streams so you you get good air flow and the kids love playing in steam. The site is surounding by large conifer and other deciduous trees and is adjacent to a large field with ball diamonds and horse shoe pits.
I continually heard this place is beutiful from all of my relatives.
