What Guests Are Saying
Simpson Springs Campground is praised for its beautiful vistas, cleanliness, and convenient facilities, making it a great spot for groups and stargazing. The pavilion is well-equipped and offers shelter from the sun, though visitors should be prepared for windy conditions. However, issues like reserved sites being occupied, occasional maintenance concerns, and disturbances from noisy campers can detract from the experience.

There is no camp host, so the sites are not marked as reserved. When we arrived, there was a group in our reserved spot. We told them and they moved, but they moved to another reservable spot. Although there were plenty of first come spots open. We had a group of 10 campers in 5 different spots, with tents, and it was hard to find a spot that was level. The vault toilets were clean and were stocked with lots of toilet paper. Sheep came close to our camp in the evening, and the herding dog came to visit up close. He was very friendly, and stayed a couple of hours. The campers that were in our spot, were scouts, and only stayed the first night, and left all of their garbage in the fire ring. A couple in our group ended up taking the garbage with them to dispose of. Overall a great campsite, might be better with a camp host.

Only complaint, scout group left bags full of garbage in their fire pit. Not sure who they thought would clean it up...

There was no level sights for tents. We booked sights 4-9 and none of them were level. BUT the bathrooms were clean and in good condition and we had a great time.

Amazing spot for star gazing! We are going back for the meteor shower in April! Simpson is wide open with very little light pollution. Bathrooms were less than perfect but not too bad for given that it’s winter and they get less attention. If you’re looking to get away this is a great spot!

Nice place to visit this time of year. Radio reception good in the vehicle, but the trailer had some issues.
