About Red Cliffs Campground

Red Cliffs Recreation Area includes a campground, day use areas, a non-motorized trail system, and interpreted public use sites. Dinosaurs left their footprints, now visible in the sandstone. Ancestral Puebloans lived here in the 10th century, growing corn, beans, and squash along Quail and Leeds Creek. Mid-19th century pioneers farmed here, supplying the area’s silver miners with food. Located within the Red Cliffs National Conservation Area, the Recreation Area is managed to conserve and protect the natural and cultural resources of the public lands.

Great small hikes and stunning views right in your backyard. Nestled in the rocks created great privacy and scenery. It was incredibly peaceful and beautiful.

Very happy that campground is now reservable instead of first come, first served. This whole area is beautiful, and a great area to explore. Hiking trails and mountain biking trails are great. I was in site #1. It was a back-in that was uphill and curved, so it took some work to level, but the site was nice and private with a beautiful backdrop of red rocks. Toilets were across the campground, but they were kept pretty clean. Only tenters and small campers can fit under the bridge at the entrance, so there are no big rigs here. Enjoyed out stay.

The Red Cliffs campground is a true gem. While the camp spots are packed in more tightly than I would like, and the spots for tents are limited, the location is truly spectacular. And, each camp spot has its own water spigot, which is a real pleasure in the desert.

The Red Cliffs are unbeatable as well.

An absolutely beautiful landscape, with an easy couple of hikes around the campground. Lots of RV's (with their generators), and mostly day use families to see the dinosaur tracks and get the kids out into the wonders of nature... sorta completely abandoned by any type of park service attendee, but it seems that's the way the park service is going these days. Abbey and his followers would most likely stay away from this spot, but its beautiful if you're just on the road with a tent and need a place to stay under the stars. lots of ants, but they don't bother you if you clean your spot (or end up having to clean up from the previous bbq party like we did, twice.) Saw a tarantula on the hike! A wonderful little guy!

Lovely campground, perfect sites nestled into the beautiful red rocks. Nearby trails of varying distances and degrees of ease. The setting is simply gorgeous.

The campground was well organized and clean. We hiked the Silver reef trail and stopped at the dinosaur tracks. The views at the end of the trail were breathtaking.
