About Red Cliffs Campground

Red Cliffs Recreation Area includes a campground, day use areas, a non-motorized trail system, and interpreted public use sites. Dinosaurs left their footprints, now visible in the sandstone. Ancestral Puebloans lived here in the 10th century, growing corn, beans, and squash along Quail and Leeds Creek. Mid-19th century pioneers farmed here, supplying the area’s silver miners with food. Located within the Red Cliffs National Conservation Area, the Recreation Area is managed to conserve and protect the natural and cultural resources of the public lands.

Lovely spot backed by red sandstone cliffs, with sites spaces around an ephemeral ,cottonwood lined stream. Protected from the noise of the 15 Freeway. Hiking trails from the campsite lead to a historic settler home and dinosaur tracks. A little campsite gem, easy driving distance to St George, and Snow Valley State Park. Thankyou BLM!

Site #8 was fantastic! Enjoyed the multiple hikes that are there. We didn’t have our gravel bikes with us, but some trails would have made a fun ride. Next time.

I had campsite #2. I didn’t realize that you can’t access it with your vehicle. So just know that. I have a vw weekender van and a 70lb disabled dog, so she couldn’t make it up the 14 cement steps to access the campsite. There was a reserved parking place for #2 campsite in the middle of the parking lot. So that was my camp. The parking lot. I didn’t stay the planned second night. I guess I just didn’t look at site description closely enough.

The campground is wonderful! On arrival someone hijacked our campsite and refused to leave. After many attempts after hours (7:30 pm) to contact the blm office we ended up calling the Sheriff's to come out. By 9 pm we enjoying our campsite.

This small campground nestled into the red rock is very well kept and just a pleasure to camp at. Each site has a covered picnic table and it's own water spigot. The trail system is wonderful and the variety of environments in such a small area is truly amazing. There really is something for everyone here! Hard to believe it's about 15 minutes from St. George!

A wonderful camping area to begin the Southern Utah tour in our NoBo camper. The Red Cliffs are awesome as are the hiking trails. Dinosaur tracks to discover too. The Pit Toilets could use more deodorizer, but that's true just about anywhere we've been. Campsites were spot on good and the covered tables are great. Thoroughly enjoyed this visit and seeing the awesome beauty, canyon hike and the Anasazi pit houses and other archeological ruins. Nice displays too as well as the pioneering folks that once lived there.
