Fruita campground is beautiful with spectacular scenery but I would say it’s set up for smaller rigs, vans, and/or tents. Host Gary was great, informative and friendly. Our problem was generators aren’t allowed in the loop we were in and since work remote and rely on electricity for the fridge, we had to cut our trip way short. And the trees were beautiful but unfortunately shaded my solar panels. Reserve something in Loop C if you need to use a generator.

This site would have been better for an RV. Ground was uneven and no actual tent pad. My husband enjoyed the stream behind the campground and we both really enjoyed the pies. I had cherry and he chose strawberry rhubarb. They were fantastic. We had a cinnamon roll as well, which was ok.

Fruita Campground was a perfect base camp for our needs.
NO CELL SERVICE HERE! Starlink was prominent in this campground.
Camp Host Gary was excellent! So friendly and helpful with questions about the area.
The restrooms were always clean and stocked. Dishwashing sink is provided, which was convenient.
RV pads were nice and wide! Easy to fit motorhome with slides. Even though there is no hook-ups in this campground, the sun was easy to grab with the solar panels.
Evening Ranger talks were educational and most of the Rangers were personable and eager to answer questions. The Night Sky/Astronomy talk was amazing!
Dump station and water fill easy in and out.
The Gifford House was nice. Some local jams, syrups, with homemade mini-pies. Hubby said they were really good! The cinnamon rolls were as well.
Easy walking trails and great grassy areas with picnic tables.
Had about 10 deer walking around eating well. Came into the campground proper as well as being in the grassy areas. What a treat!
We will stay here again!

Fruita cp was peaceful and secluded! We loved the river by the camp, the homemade pies at the Gifford House were awesome, and the sweet camp volunteer that took time to make us feel welcomed! Loved our stay here!

Overall very pleasant, especially the evening presentation at the ampitheater.
One remark though: we had a tent site but it was quite swampy to access it as the lawn was watered during the day apparently.
