We have camped there many times. This time it seemed different, the host wasn't there for questions or to check us in or out. Campground was as always in immaculate condition and we look forward to our visit in May

I'll have to remember that March is not a good time to camp at Goose Point. When I made my reservations there was no warning the sites didn't have running water and the dump station is closed. After we arrived we found that out. We managed to make the best of it. Another note I've made is site #4 has large rocks just across from the entrance to the driveway making it hard to get my 34 camper into the gravel site.

This is my second stay at Goose Point. I love it here. Good cell/TV reception. Quiet, peaceful and beautiful. Almost all sites are level within an inch or so. All sites include picnic table and fire ring. About half of the sites on lowest loop are right on the lake. Bathhouse is clean and has good hot water pressure. I can't think of anything that isn't good about this campground.

Waterfront sites Loop C offer great views and proximity to beach, but can be exposed to windy conditions at times. Loop A sites are on top of a hill and generally shaded. The whole area is quite hilly, and may be a challenge for some larger rigs. Good water access for boating and the like.

The best COE campground I have ever experienced and I have been to almost a dozen. It is a hidden gem. It's a slow five-mile trek on a narrow, winding, uphill, downhill mountain road that eventually drops you at the shores of Lake Philpott (near VA/NC border). There are thirty sites at the bottom loop with about half sitting right on the lake. It's a beautiful lake that meanders throughout the foot hills in the distance. Fishing and boating abounds. Sites are relatively spacious and reasonably distanced (unlike commercial campgrounds). The best part - it has 2-3 bars of Verizon and decent TV reception so I can watch March Madness. The only downside, you can only stay her 14 days out of any rolling 30-day period. This place is fantastic!

Our first time at Goose Point. The campground is beautiful and the sites are well placed. Unfortunately, we were one of the first guests of the season. Without notification or posting on the web site, there was no water. Admittedly, it was getting below freezing at night but we should be allowed to fill up during the day. I did this at a similar stay at Pocohantas State Park a month prior. To make matters a little worse, the dump station was also closed... The price was so cheap, I didn't make a fuss, but was disappointed. The camp host was very friendly and chatted daily. I understand it's hard to get reservations during the season and can see why. It's a beautiful area. The drive in is a little challenging if you meet other campers.
