Had a wonderful experience, and usually do! My family goes here every year at least once to camp. Always a good experience! I personally loved camping more this year because they restricted the grounds to just campers due to covid. Usually the campground is too crowded between campers and day users.... even though I enjoy it everytime we go.... this year seemed extra special due to the feeling of being not over crowded or cramped!

Campground is well taken care of, Rangers patrol regular not a lot of noise like other parks. Will be visiting in 2021.

I liked it a lot better when it was first come first serve and you paid with cash........don't like how they make you reserve spots now and pay by credit or debit card.

Goose Point Recreation area is a beautiful place, even in November! We were surprised how many other campers were there.
Our site was right on the lake this time and so we enjoyed the view. Our site had electricity. Water at the site was off but a central spigot remained open so we could fill our tank. Rain meant this stay was a bit like being holed up in a cottage on the English coast.
Although Recreation.gov said that there was no water at the dump station, it did not say that the dump station was closed. In fact it was closed so even using our own water to clean up after dumping out tanks was not an option. This was unfortunate since we planned this trip as our last before winterizing our travel trailer. The solution was to go to nearby Fairy Stone State Park where we could pay $10 to dump.
We will certainly return to this wonderful campground.

This is a great campground. Water and dump station turned off after November 1. There is water fill available near some of the campsites. Beautiful setting

This is my second reservation at Goose Point. The first was a great experience. But the second time was a horrible experience. The reason I was in the area is to hunt.
Even though I'm aware that the check-in time is at 5pm, I took a chance and tried to check-in during lunch time. My first stay at Goose Point, one of the camp employee notified me by phone that I may check-in early so I figured to give it a try. When I arrived at the gate, a gentleman let me check-in early but told me that the site is still occupied and that the check out time is at 4PM. He told me that after 5pm I may return and occupy the site. So I went left and continue my hunt until 7pm. When I arrived at the site, an RV is still parked and some camping items are still layed out in the camp. I tried knocking on the RV door but no one is answering. After waiting for about 5 minutes, I decided to go to the gate and look for the camp employee. I stayed in the vicinity by the gate but no employee showed up. At around 8pm, I decided to go ahead and drive back home to Virginia Beach thinking the earlier I started driving, the sooner I can get rest.
The next day, I contacted the help center to complain and request for a refund. This is a horrible experience. I was counting on having to rest that night but instead I ended up driving 5 hours to get home. I wished there was an employee that time to help me settle for the night.
Reserved site is 33.
