The campground was quiet and peaceful. Seen several deer & bear. Coles point beach access was very convenient, just a couple miles down the road. There was close access to the river as well.

Camp is very well maintained. The hosts are very helpful, especially Tod and keep the restrooms very clean. Camped here four times this summer and going back soon. Great place ! Only wish the campground would open sooner and close later. Memorial Day to Labor Day don’t cut it.

Very active bear both nights, got into trash bins and also a neighboring campsites cooler (they left it out, so they were at fault, but still that bear knows where to find food). It walked towards us when we said "hey bear". Bathhouse was clean, very quiet campsite but we won't be back to tent camp due to bear activity.

The campsite was exactly what I had hoped it would be! Tent pad was level and clean, the camp fire ring had a rotating grill plate that could be swung out of the way. Bathrooms with showers and hot water were clean and well maintained, the road through out the campsite was smooth asphalt so kids could ride their bikes and small roller skates around, the other campers really abided by keeping the noise levels down especially at night time. Having AT&T it was actually a welcome break not to have great signal so that we could all unplug for a few days. We found enough signal outside the campground heading down towards the closed Welcome Center however. I would not change anything except our departure day which we wish could have pushed further out. Great area to unwind and get back to a simpler state of mind. One thing I will change is that we will bring our kayaks next time to explore the lake.

Lovely campground close to lake Moomaw in a beautiful forest. No recycling, car driving too fast in the campground, power generator running all day long.

My family and I have stayed on both ends of the campground. The campsites are well maintained. The hosts are wonderful & offer help if needed. The bathhouse is clean and the water is hot. There is a large sink with water and a shelf if you’d like to wash dishes behind the bathhouse. There is a playground and basketball goal. Verizon/Straight Talk cell service is good. Lake MooMaw is only a couple miles away and it’s gorgeous!

I’ve camped here for years and love the campground. My only complaint is I wish the running of generators would be policed more during the quiet hours. I was there for two nights and late evening both nights a neighboring camper would fire up a generator and run it all night. For those of us in a tent there’s not much of a sound barrier.
