Our campsite was a little small for our family size tent compared to other sites we have stayed at, but we did have enough room. The bathrooms were clean, water was easily accessible, the trash was easy to dispose of. It was very convenient to be able to pull right into our campsite; other sites had a pull through/loop, and we will likely consider that next time. In exploring the campsite, we stumbled upon the amphitheater which had incredibly beautiful views. Highly recommend stopping!
It may have just been our site, but the campsite seemed better suited for non-tent camping. The sites were more narrow than other sites we have stayed at, but we did have enough room.
The person working at the store was incredibly helpful, informative, and told us about some local attractions. The showers were also clean, and were easy to use. The website said $5 for 5 minute showers, but there was a printed sign inside that said $5 for 10 minutes. Definitely bring quarters, because that hot shower was perfect!!
We also loved how easily we could access the AT for hiking and drive Skyline Drive. We definitely recommend this campsite!

As a frequent visitor to Shenandoah National Park, Stayed at Big meadows and Matthews arm campground in previous visits.
Loft Mountain Campground is very clean, campsites are well marked, offer decent privacy and tree coverage. Restrooms are well maintained and clean.
Hiked the nearby trails and enjoyed the Blackberry ice-cream at the wayside store.
I would highly recommend Loft Mountain campground for anyone who is planning.

We only stayed one night but it was our favorite campground out of the 3 we stayed in while in Shenandoah. Very quiet and the Ranger brought Junior Ranger books out to my kids at check in!

The views from our campsite were amazing. I love being so close to the AT. The park rangers were extremely helpful with recommendations on where to hike and fish.

I had a really good experience at Loft Mountain Campground.
Some trails are accessible from the campground, which is nice.
It was very clean, campsites are nice and well marked.
Restrooms were clean.
Showers were nice, although a little expensive. $5 for 10 min, and you can't put less for less time...

There was a minor mixup with my particular site when I checked in, but it ended up being a non-issue. Love the campground, can't wait to come back.
