The site was super easy to get to, had a fire ring with grill, a picnic table and a bear box. Bathrooms weren’t far away and we were steps away from the Appalachian Trail! Only complaint was the middle of the night arrivals:( But I guess that’s to be expected;)

Loft Mountain Campground was quiet the whole week we were there. We had one of the first-come sites, A64, and it was very private. Plenty of room for 2 tents and a canopy over the table. The bear box was an added bonus. We had planned on keeping food in the truck but with the box right beside the table we didn't have to haul things back and forth. All of the walk-in tent sites have bear boxes but they're only in some of the regular sites. The closest restroom is between Loop B and C. The camp store had everything we needed during our stay. The showers were clean. The price for showers was $5 for 10 minutes. The water started off hot but cooled off some, probably because of others showering at the same time. I found out later that the camp store and showers were running off a generator that day so having any hot water was impressive. The rangers were helpful and friendly as was the camp host we talked with. We started camping at Loft Mountain in the mid 90's but for the past 10 years have camped at Big Meadows. Loft Mountain is the place to go for a quieter, laid back camp.

Beautiful campground with spacious sites, well maintained facilities and great access to trails. Do your research as some sites are better suited for tents or RV’s. Some sites are sunny and for solar power, whilst others are very shady and private. You get lots of options.

Older campground that could use some upgrades. Our picnic table was severely rotted and not all sites have bear boxes. Overall is was a great experience. Most sites have some shaded area.

We only got to spend one quick night at the loft mountain campground but it was excellent. The privacy of each campsite was extremely welcome after staying at Big Meadows, as was the cleanliness of the bathroom. The site was large and shady with a comfortable, clean picnic table and a clean bear box. The ground was also wonderfully flat, allowing for a great night’s sleep.

Showers are coin showers. Otherwise, lovely campground close to good hikes. Would stay here again.
