This was my second stay at Shenandoah National Park. So much to see and do, and the facilities and grounds are immaculate! I highly recommend the visitor's center, a short walk from Big Meadows Campground. Bring cash for the showers. Store and gas station next to the Visitor's Center is AWESOME for things you might have forgotten or treats for your stay. I LOVE THIS CAMPGROUND!

Big meadows was beautiful and clean. We stayed in D loop in the campground and it was a packed weekend, but everyone was respectful. The lodge is about a 10 minute walk away if you want food and a drink at the bar. We didn't get to check out any hikes but we’ll be back!

The staff at Big Meadows Lodge were excellent, the food and drinks were gourmet !
Chef Marnie visited to assure the food was prepared to my satisfaction. That special touch made all the difference to me. Neil the bartender was one the money with his concoctions. Several good hikes near by with waterfalls, wild life. Oh the deer are everywhere so be careful driving. Ill definitely be back.

lovely time... BUT wish there was a NO pets section, Not really happy with the digital reservations - it does not allow for spontaneity, and cell service is spotty in the mountains - if you have it at all - not looking forward to going cashless. enjoy seeing the NPS employees as they have more knowledge/education and insight than people just in it for a job.

First time camping for a few days in this campground. It was great. When we arrived it was full, and I was wondering what that would sound like, but it was fairly quiet during the days and the nights was extremely quiet. The amenities are amazing, and the showers/bathrooms are clean. Great proximity to many hikes also. I only wish it wasn't so popular b/c we wanted to go back for another few days in October but it was all booked up. Oh well, we'll try again next year.
