Beautiful setting, which included a swimming lake! We enjoyed a two night stay (week nights). It was quiet and our site included a babbling brook. We enjoyed the service of two volunteer camp hosts..Peter and JR, who were very supportive. JR even gave us a brochure of the Blue Ridge Parkway, which we had been unable to find. It was our life line on the Parkway.
The showers and restroom were clean and the water was hot. One of the best parts of this experience was that there was zero cell phone or internet service. That is "ruffing it" in today's standards...but it is also "getting away from it all", which we enjoyed. Certainly one of the top campsites of our 33 day journey throughout the Southeast.

Excellent! Flush toilets and hot showers, beautiful lake, well-maintained trails, and plenty of firewood to choose from. Would definitely go again.

Wonderful campground, very neat and clean. Great camp host, especially J. R. He was very knowledgeable and helped us plan our activities in the area. We will be back.

Although it rained most of the day the issue I had was with all the sand in the camping area made it very difficult not to get dirty.

Beautiful campground surrounded by hills on all sides. Close to the interstate and a dirt road away from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Good sized private camping spots. Clean bathrooms and very nice private showers. Nearby lake and some small trails. I have AT&T and there was not a single crumb of reception anywhere in the area.

They have an old closed bathroom which was operational (even though dated) pre-COVID. There is definitely a need for it to be reopened or replaced as only 2 stalls in the men's room is not many for 25 campsites in the main loop. Also would love to see a footbridge cutting across the center creek to the main bathroom. Otherwise it is a long walk.
The campsites are very spacious and this is a wonderful place to camp. I have been coming here for over 50 years. It is a hidden gem!
