quite campsite, everything worked.
Only suggestion is to put some hooks into the shower area.

Great camp site very large and level and next to bathhouse. Cons are that there is only one bathhouse with four showers for 40 camp sites and the bathhouse at the lake had no showers. With the temperatures in the 90's we would have liked and gladly paid for electrical hookup to power our AC at night. Lake was warm and clean with sand beach and sand swimming area.

the campsite is great. Each of the individual sites are given plenty of room to move around whether you have tents or
RV/trailer/van, Though you are in the woods, and you are in the woods, the sites are clear and clean. Plenty of vegetation around your site to give you privacy. The bathrooms are kept VERY clean considering they are not new and nature all around. The hosts are attentive if you need them and in the background if you don't. Everyone was very respectful of noise levels. I will be staying here again the next time I pass through Virginia.

This was a great choice for a peaceful and relaxing camping trip. Flush toilets, nice showers, friendly camp hosts, checked on us daily, answered questions we had and was low keyed, but visible. We were the only tent camper in the upper section, site 40B. Near the toilet, you could hear the creek, made for great sleeping, a grassy area next to our site and deer feeding thru every morning.
Bring bug spray, we used 2 Thermocell's to keep them off of us around the camp, and when the time comes to start a lantern, moving it back some helps keep the bugs back near the light. Bring a sleeping pad, your in gravel, keep the door zipped tight to keep the bugs and occasional rodent/snake
out (saw 2) and have a great time. Bring a saw to cut some wood for a fire, you should not bring wood from home, could get you a ticket for bringing an unknown bug into the national forest. The deer were everywhere and so were the ticks.
We will be back, great spot!

First time staying here. The host was extremely friendly and helpful. Camp sites are spread out well. Every site has a great view of the river leading down to the lake. Very enjoyable, will definitely camp here again!
Bathrooms and bathhouse is very clean both men and women’s. Good showers

We have been going to this lovely little campground for many years. It is one of the few places that is good for tent camping. The lake is a great source of amusement for our grandchildren because of the prevalence of salamanders. We appreciate the addition of the rope that helps swimmers stay in the shallow area.
Cave Mountain Lake campground has very nice facilities and provides basic, NON electronic fun for all ages - PLEASE keep it that way! A great place to relax and connect with nature and family.

Cave Mountain Lake is a perfect family campground—clean, well-maintained, and peaceful. The sites are spacious with great privacy thanks to the trees. Staff were friendly, and rules were clear and easy to follow. The beach was a hit with our kids (lots of salamanders!), and they loved the fishing spots too. It’s close to great hikes like Devil’s Marbleyard, Apple Orchard Falls, and Natural Bridge. Don’t miss Great Valley Farm Brewery nearby. We had everything we needed for a great weekend—can’t wait to come back!

A beautiful site with a creek. Well maintained, bathhouses are clean and functional. Only downside which is uncontrollable was that there was a lot of ticks.
