Beautiful, quiet campground, spacious sites, clean facilities, gracious and helpful hosts. We’ll definitely camp there again next season! Lots of wonderful hiking trails nearby and in the campground, too! We enjoyed the Natural Bridge and exploring the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Need better notification that they lock the gate at 10pm and you can’t enter. Drove 7 hours to find out we couldn’t get in. Ended up at least being able to find a hipcamp that was available

Great campsite hosts, clean facilities. Have an open mind when visiting. Great for families, someone seeking a solo trip might reconsider more secluded options. Review all sites and options for your visits, create your own adventure. Don't be a litter bug, protect the wilderness, or there is always the potential the Appalachian wood monsters and the great bear spirit eat your liver.

Loved the double site. Very spacious and private as well. Glad there was a bathroom nearby that was clean at all times. The bathhouse down the road was clean as well. One of the showers (farthest from the road) didn’t have warm water but the other two did. Definitely would visit again! No cell phone service.

This campground is a hidden gem that is maintained by hard working volunteers who really care about the park. The lake and sandy beach is clean and is a great place for families with children. There is a big log pavilion that was built in 1932 by the CCC and can be used for parties, etc. We will definitely be back!
