I've been using the lake at Cave Mtn for 50 years, and the campground for at least 20 years. It's always such a wonderful experience. I love it there!

Campground is woodsy and offers great feeling of privacy, showers are wonderful, and bathroom was clean and well maintained. The lake and beach are beautiful, with lots of day visitor picnic sites. It was quiet when we visited (mid May) and very perfect.

We came for hiking and birding and were very pleased with both. The campground itself is clean and the bathrooms/showers were in good condition. The campsites are large and spaced fairly far apart. It was nice to listen to the creek at night.

This was our first time visiting Cave Mountain, as I had hoped to visit for several years but rainy spring weekends dampened prior trips. We were so amazed with the campground, the hosts, and facilities. They appeared to have three camp ground hosts that did an amazing job keeping the camping area in great condition. I'd like to think respectful campers also help make their job easy. The weather was delightful, it is close to several wonderful hikes, the facilities were very clean, the lake is small and nice, the grounds are very accessible. We will definitely come back!

We were in site 39, crushed gravel, very level, near the upper toilets (flush), but a short walk to the showers(!). There is a minimum 2-night stay for weekends, but the National Park pass gives you a $20 discount. Short drive to Natural Bridge, VA. Don't ride your brakes, use low gears; there are steep hills in and out of the campground. Beautiful and quiet while we were there; sites for 4 volunteer camp hosts, but only 2 filled and only 1 onsite as far as we could tell that weekend. Biggest drawback is that you HAVE to make reservations through Recreation.gov, and there is NO available cell service until you get back down to Natural Bridge Station or Glasgow, so you can't drive in, find your spot, and then reserve it. We'd go again, *****.
