The campground is well-maintained, with clean facilities and a friendly host who enhances the experience. This campground is very tranquil, scenic and engaging with Panther Creek running right next to it. There are several small beaches to hang out on next to the creek and the water, although quite cold, is refreshing on a hot summer day. This campground is about 20 minutes from the close small town of Carson should you need to restock on ice, drinks, gas, batteries, etc. Wind River Market and Dollar General are sure to have what you need and Wind River Market has one wall devoted to miscellaneous camping items in case you left something at home. For outings away from camp, Goose Lake is about 30 minutes away and provides good trout fishing and swimming. There is also an underground ice cave (go via the Wind River highway, the forest route is rough) in this region, as well as stunning waterfalls. Panther Creek Campground offers well water pumps within camp, as well as outhouse restrooms. The restrooms are kept up well and are clean compared to others that I've seen and for how rustic this site is. Some of the campsites are small, however they do offer a few larger sites. The campsites are far enough away from each other to have some privacy and separation from the noise of your fellow campers. I definitely recommend staying at this campground. It is rustic, beautiful and peaceful. It is conveniently close to a small town if needs arise, yet far enough into the woods to feel separated from the rest of the world. If you're 420-friendly, there is an excellent cannabis dispensary in Carson as well (Forbidden Cannabis), that offers an excellent selection and exceptional customer service. Hood River is also not terribly far away if you have a need for a laundromat or smoke shop supplies.

Campsite clean on arrival. Bathroom about the cleanest one I have ever used. Of no fault of the host, the double site next to us was quite rowdy with teenage boys. We’ve camped in the same site for three years and this was the first time that noisy neighbors were a pain. But aside from these folks we loved our stay. Spent one entire day relaxing along Panther Creek, and spent 1/2 day hiking a section of the PCT that goes through the campground.

Beautifully lush camp ground! Was maybe 2/3 full and still felt quiet and private. Loved being so close to the river. Bathrooms were SO clean. Met the camp host briefly and they were very nice. Would absolutely return.

Love the space, surprisingly few insects for the proximity to water and everyone was far enough apart that we had little concern over nose; though everyone was quiet anyway. Vault toilets are better than expected and the nearby hikes are amazing, we'd have packed in more, but we only had a day and a half before we had to get to the Indian Heaven

Absolutely Love Panther Creek Campground. Sites are quiet and spaced far apart. Lots of room for 2 vehicles and 2 tents. Toilets were clean and didn't smell, overall great time!!

This is a beautiful campground running along side of Panther Creek. The sites are well spaced out and large. The bathrooms were well maintained. Bring your own water or jugs to be filled by a couple of pumps on site. The old Highway is perfect to bike on. We went to the waterfall located 4.8 miles from campground. Absolutely beautiful waterfall and hike. Our camp host never did evening check in or monitored the campground. It was fine but be careful of stupid people who drive super fast thru the campground. We saw a lot of young kids having fun on the gravel road not watching for drivers. Yes it’s a road but common sense says to go slow thru the campground.

Enjoyed the quiet, roomy, private campsites and clear, flat tent pads. Water source is a bit far from a lot of sites and garbage has to be taken up to the entrance bins, but we enjoyed the more primitive feel to the campgound.

We enjoyed this small, quiet campground. The small river was nice for the kids to play in as well. I can’t give it a 5 because we never saw the camp host who seemed to only clean the bathrooms once a week ( little to no toilet paper, no hand sanitizer). A family also ignored the fire ban and the host was no where to be found. We’ll be back, hopefully with a more responsive host.

The campground is beautiful. We looked for rocks on the creek. We drove to the falls, look for the writing on the street. No signs to the falls. However, we never saw the camp host. The family next to us had a s reaming baby who started at 5am and never stopped. Nothing was ever said to them.
