We were delighted by how secluded and clean the sites were and the short walk down to the river. It was refreshing to sit in the cold river water, under the tree canopy, during the hot days. Bring your camp chair to the water and just relax.
Camp host Kevin was welcoming and super helpful. He and his wife know the area very well and are a wealth of knowledge as to what to see and do in the area.
We personally would drive into Carson for coffee, amazing pizza at Backwoods Brewing company or a relaxing soak at the Carson Hot Springs resort. Stevenson was not that far away for great food and also coffee as well as a better market. Another side trip that is fun is to Hood River across the Columbia River in Oregon.
We have stayed at Beaver Campground twice and will probably go again where we are in the area.

Nice little campground that's just far enough out of town to feel like you've accomplished getting out of town. Active and friendly host keeps it clean and tidy, and the place was fairly quiet during our stay due to being mostly empty. Most of these sites are designed for only one tent/screen room, although we were able to make our site (11) work for two of our tents due to one being a solo backpacking tent. (If you want to use a hammock, you must use straps instead of ropes.) The shallow but flowing Wind River is accessible from the lower campsites, and there is also the Carson National Fish Hatchery about a mile north on Wind River Rd. The Falls Creek Falls Trailhead is about five miles north for a beautiful 2.5 mile hike.

Campground was clean and well-maintained. The host was diligent to upkeep amenities on a daily basis. The camp spot was large enough for two tents and all of our gear, plus it was a good distance away from the neighboring spots.

Beaver is the best campground in the best National Forest around. Yes, The Gifford Pinchot NF sits between bustling Rainier and Hood, perfect for those who want a bit of peace and quiet. The camp host, Kayley, is wonderful; the stream was nice and cool on some hot days; the group camp easily held a couple dozen folks, with food, visiting, and music to make it perfect.
While at Beaver, be sure to stop at Falls Creek Falls, the most amazing waterfall in the area. There are also some really cool anthills, old cabins, the PCT, and ice caves to visit while there. So much to see, so relaxing.

Kevin was great and also kept the campground and bathrooms very clean. Campers brought a TON of dogs this year but he enforced the leash policy (thank goodness - some of the dogs were pretty mean looking). Really appreciate his pleasant attitude and how well he stayed on top of the goings-on in the campground. Great host.

We had a great time at Beaver. The camp host, Kevin, was super accommodating and informative as we had a big storm over the weekend. He came to show us the radar and even took away our garbage for us. He was so kind in helping us find two sites that fit our group and really made our stay enjoyable. The toilets were very clean with flushable toilets! Would highly recommend staying at Beaver.

The camp sites were clean as were the vault and flush toilets. The camp hosts were especially helpful and friendly and were able to give us several good hiking suggestions.
