Beaver Campground

The campsite is fine if you want to be in a dense canopy, but is by no means riverfront as described. Could not see or hear the river at all. I was glad we brought our own toilet paper since the tp in the vault toilet was empty and never replaced. Campground could use some tlc.

Ruger (the camp host's son) was a little menace! He would not leave one of the youth with us alone. We asked him several times, he ignored us and the camp host's weren't the friendliest either! My friend also lost her phone while we were there!

Nice campground, limited river access and no trails. The little bit of a path was very overgrown.

greatest campground going downhill quick. Just came home from a 5 day stay at Beaver campground. This used to be the best campground in Washington, the camp hosts were great and kept everything clean. Had 3 years away from here due to health and other reasons. Sad to see what happened in 3 years. The camp hosts used to clean and stock the restrooms twice each day. They would drive around and see trash, stop and pick it up. This time the host only came bye the restroom one time in 5 days. Stocked TP but did not clean anything. Camp filled up Friday and Then from Saturday morning there was no toilet paper. Many people left on Saturday. Camp Hosts seemed to be nice people, but as far as being a campground host I do not know. Maybe the job requirement changed, I did see the old sign that the restrooms were cleaned twice a day, but that was in the flushing toilet that was repaired the last day of our stay. These signs that used to be in the pit toilets 3 years before were not there any more. Maybe this Outdoor Recreation Hospitality company has changed how they keep up campgrounds. Looks like they get plenty of money from the forest service to run these campgrounds, lots of vehicles, trailers, fancy lawn mowers, and carts.
The retired couple that used to host this campground were some of the best people around. They made it an awesome campground. Now It is still a great place, but will think twice about staying again unless things change.

We come here annually and this year the weather was perfect. The campground is clean and the vault toilets were well supplied. It was a little busy on the weekend but it cleared out during the week. The river was really refreshing since it got up to about 90 degrees one day.

One suggestion: the two flush toilets were out of service so it would have been nice if the website reflected that.

No camp host available on Memorial Day weekend. Bathrooms out of service. Screaming children all day long and starting at 6:00 am. (Not the host's fault. Hard to control poor parenting.). Beautiful setting. Nice camp spots.

Great little campground. Nice sites, lots of trees. Good hiking nearby.

We were delighted by how secluded and clean the sites were and the short walk down to the river. It was refreshing to sit in the cold river water, under the tree canopy, during the hot days. Bring your camp chair to the water and just relax.
Camp host Kevin was welcoming and super helpful. He and his wife know the area very well and are a wealth of knowledge as to what to see and do in the area.
We personally would drive into Carson for coffee, amazing pizza at Backwoods Brewing company or a relaxing soak at the Carson Hot Springs resort. Stevenson was not that far away for great food and also coffee as well as a better market. Another side trip that is fun is to Hood River across the Columbia River in Oregon.
We have stayed at Beaver Campground twice and will probably go again where we are in the area.

Nice little campground that's just far enough out of town to feel like you've accomplished getting out of town. Active and friendly host keeps it clean and tidy, and the place was fairly quiet during our stay due to being mostly empty. Most of these sites are designed for only one tent/screen room, although we were able to make our site (11) work for two of our tents due to one being a solo backpacking tent. (If you want to use a hammock, you must use straps instead of ropes.) The shallow but flowing Wind River is accessible from the lower campsites, and there is also the Carson National Fish Hatchery about a mile north on Wind River Rd. The Falls Creek Falls Trailhead is about five miles north for a beautiful 2.5 mi hike.
