The whole campground during the week, is mostly empty. We had so much fun fishing and driving to the Canadian border just to see it and more fishing.

Kettle River Campground offers a beautiful and clean environment with stunning views, well-maintained facilities, and a friendly atmosphere. Many guests enjoy the swimming area, wildlife sightings, and peaceful surroundings, especially during quieter times. However, some visitors have reported issues with noise from party-goers and a lack of waste management, highlighting the need for better oversight on busy weekends.

Most of the campsites were quite large, and the campground was quiet. It was a bit disappointing that our site wasn’t right on the river in mid-August, as we’d expected. Campers who’d been there over the Fourth of July told us the river was high enough then to surround all the sites.
Still, it was fun. The river was within easy walking distance, and there was a nice sandy beach where we could set up for the day and hang out. The slow-moving water made it really pleasant to spend the whole day in. It was very hot, but every campsite had some good shade.
We would definitely go again. It felt like a bit of a hidden gem—maybe because it’s so primitive (vault toilets, no water or electric).

Beautiful location! Beach is nice, water was warm, and other campers were kind. We spent our days reading in hammocks, paddle boarding, and going on walks. Also, the view is UNMATCHED

As with most campgrounds in this area of the state, prepare to be around people who treat camping as a party: loud, nonstop music; overflowing trash; little (if any) regard for others; etc. There's almost zero ranger presence, which just gives the revelers an excuse to be obnoxious. If quiet and nature are what you're looking for, stay away from Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area. "Recreation" is in the name for a reason.

The garage cans were removed a couple, years back, but the price did not go down. This is a basic camp ground so price per night is expensive
