About North Gorge Campground

North Gorge is a small, but popular, campground at the northeast edge of the park. A few sites are large enough for an RV, but most are built for tent camping. The campground is set in a grove of pines on the edge of the lake. A boat launch and dock are on the north or right side of the main loop. In the summer, North Gorge is busy on the weekends.

Great camp ground, launch ramp gets very busy very loud ,very early for sturgeon season , locals go there with little respect to reserved camping

I've been going to this campground for many years, and I really still enjoy it although it doesn't and hasn't had water for quite a while. Now that I am elderly it's becoming harder for me to launch my boat when the water starts going down because the dock doesn't extend the length of the launch pad. I really hope for all of us that have and will continue camping here that they would consider placing an extended dock to make it easier for many of us that camp here at North Gorge campground. We're not asking for water resources but just one more piece of dock so we can launch our boat in the fall months. Otherwise this is the best campground of all if you don't mind pit toilets.

It was stunning! There was minimal / no shade at the site we chose when it got to the hottest point so be prepared for that. Clean, easy to access and a wonderful time.

Small campground - nice boat launch - would love to have bigger camp spots.

There was a group of people in spot 1 that had a camp fire that made me nervous. Other than that it was good

We loved the North Gorge campground. I want to give it a bad review so no one will want to go there, and I will always have an available camping spot. I must give it 5 stars. It is absolutely beautiful, peaceful, and quiet. We went there to fish and kayak. It was a long drive, took us 7 hours, but worth the drive. Bring your bug spray and binoculars!
