What Guests Are Saying
Kachess campground offers a beautiful, scenic environment with spacious and private campsites, making it a popular choice for many visitors. Numerous reviews praise the cleanliness of the campground and the friendliness of the staff, along with access to hiking trails and the lake. However, some concerns were raised about sanitation issues in the vault toilets, low lake water levels, and a lack of enforcement of campfire bans, which detracted from the overall experience for some campers.

In order to get down to the lake we were walking in mud. Not a place where the dog can swim.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Kachess Lake. For paddling, get out on the lake early and you’ll have it mostly to yourself. The winds and the crowds pick up in the afternoon. Highly recommend late night star gazing on the beach. We were there near the peak of the Perseids and the meteors put on a great show.

Check in was awful. Check in time was listed at 2:00. We got there at 1:15. We were told we couldn’t check in until 2:00 and get in line with all the other cars up a narrow gravel road. Most of those people were waiting to get into day use. Pulling our trailer up that road close to all those cars in line was scary. Please put on website no check in before 2:00.

This is a great location not too far from home. The camp hosts were very helpful. Looking forward to going back when the lake is higher.

Such a great site and amazing camp host! facilities were so clean and they went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and gave us a map of the area. Lake access was a short walk, but that was quite OK with us, we were in a nice quite corner of the campground as a result.

The lake in the beginning of August was great. It's lower water level made it easy for kids and dogs to play in shallow water, and pleasant/a bit less cold to swim in w. the hot weather recently.
There are some great campsites, and also some not great ones w. no trees/shade/privacy.
My biggest complaint at least while there for 3 days, was this: campers w. a dirt bike riding around the loops in the day and some at night. Very noisy and annoying. Disturbs the peace and quiet. Unfortunately it did not stop, sometimes for an hour or more; was hoping the camp hosts would go and stop it, but doesn't seem so.
And some of the children these days are so loud and also annoying. Screeching and screaming at the top of their lungs w. parents not dealing with this noise. I'm not sure I'll camp here anymore; just too busy and noisy. I'm discerning whether the beautiful lake is worth the busy and noisy elements.
