GeneralMora Road and Rialto Beach ConstructionIn 2019, severe winter flooding along the Quillayute River eroded the riverbank at mile post 1.25 on Mora Road. Temporary riprap was installed as an emergency measure, but a permanent fix is needed to protect long-term access to Rialto Beach. These repairs will fortify the road against continued river migration and flooding events.Between April and July 7, construction work will require a short single‑lane traffic section near milepost 1.25. The Dickey Boat Launch and trailer parking area will be closed for construction staging. No construction will occur during the Fourth of July weekend. From July 8–Oct. 5, construction crews will need to close both lanes to pedestrian, bicycle, and vehicle traffic beyond the Mora Campground. Rialto Beach will not be accessible via Mora Road during this construction period. Mora Campground will remain open.Visitors should consider alternative beaches, such as Ruby Beach, during the construction period. Please visit our Alerts & Conditions and Current Road Conditions pages for updates as construction dates change.

What Guests Are Saying
Mora Campground is highly praised for its beautiful, well-maintained sites nestled in a lush coastal forest, offering privacy and a peaceful atmosphere. Its proximity to Rialto Beach and various hiking trails enhances the camping experience, making it an ideal base for exploring Olympic National Park. While some facilities, particularly bathrooms, could use more attention, and there are no showers available, the overall charm and natural beauty of the campground make it a favorite for many campers.

Washington's gem of a national park! We did the whole tour from Hurricane Hill to Rialto Beach and the Hoh Rain Forest and it can't be beat. There was a lot of driving to do but so worth it. Check out the Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort for a nice post hiking soak and Kalaloch Beach 4 for tidal pools and beach combing. Can't wait to come back!

Beautiful campground, great location. All that was missing was hand wash in the bathrooms. I had to remember to bring my own with me every time. Not a big deal, considering the overall cleanliness and beauty of the large spruce canopy throughout. Was very quiet and peaceful during my stay. Would definitely return

Many large private sites. My site (29) Had a cool alcove in the woods for the tent. The men’s restroom has only one toilet and there was often a line.

Why can't people camp without generators? Why do they need to hang christmas lights? Why have rules if nobody enforces them? Why are camp hosts even there? These shouldn't be rhetorical questions. We paid to camp at Mora, and NPS presumably paid a private company to manage Mora. So shouldn't NPS take some responsibility to ensure that everybody gets what they paid for?
