GeneralMora Road and Rialto Beach ConstructionIn 2019, severe winter flooding along the Quillayute River eroded the riverbank at mile post 1.25 on Mora Road. Temporary riprap was installed as an emergency measure, but a permanent fix is needed to protect long-term access to Rialto Beach. These repairs will fortify the road against continued river migration and flooding events.Between April and July 7, construction work will require a short single‑lane traffic section near milepost 1.25. The Dickey Boat Launch and trailer parking area will be closed for construction staging. No construction will occur during the Fourth of July weekend. From July 8–Oct. 5, construction crews will need to close both lanes to pedestrian, bicycle, and vehicle traffic beyond the Mora Campground. Rialto Beach will not be accessible via Mora Road during this construction period. Mora Campground will remain open.Visitors should consider alternative beaches, such as Ruby Beach, during the construction period. Please visit our Alerts & Conditions and Current Road Conditions pages for updates as construction dates change.

What Guests Are Saying
Mora Campground is highly praised for its beautiful, well-maintained sites nestled in a lush coastal forest, offering privacy and a peaceful atmosphere. Its proximity to Rialto Beach and various hiking trails enhances the camping experience, making it an ideal base for exploring Olympic National Park. While some facilities, particularly bathrooms, could use more attention, and there are no showers available, the overall charm and natural beauty of the campground make it a favorite for many campers.

We camped here for 3 nights in early August with a small travel trailer (18'). These are small sites best suited for car camping/tents, primitive but very nice wooded campsites with decent privacy. Restrooms were fine. Proximity to Realto Beach makes this a very popular spot and it seemed like most people just stayed overnight and moved on. We had our dogs with us so we couldn't hike to the pond nearby. There is a convenience store/ restaurant not too far away.

Loved the campground, and proximity to the river and ocean trails. Would love there to be a trail that would lead from the campground to the beach, instead of having to walk on the road. Would also love some single track trails for biking.

The campsite itself is great. It is pretty flat, shaded, and has good privacy. However, it is right across from restrooms and there is no barrier between restrooms and campsite other than your parked vehicle. Also, the noise from air dryers can be heard every time someone uses the restroom and there can be quite a bit of commotion in the morning so don't expect to have calm mornings. The campground is very well maintained. The toilets were very clean.

Woke up the next morning with a horrible shit smell. I thought my daughter pooped in her pants. It turned out there was a huge puddle of toilet water in our campsite. We rushed out that morning skipping breakfast. Retuned home with cones and caution tape across our site, I’m hoping we get a refund. We ended up leaving early since it was no longer appetizing to cook meals at our camp site.

Unlike Kalaloch, which is undeniably beautiful and off the beach, this place is very nice as well. Big difference is the space between campsites. More room, more trees, more privacy and less on top of each other. Amazing stay. Bathroom was decent as well. Looked well kept and clean over all. Few minutes away from Rialto Beach. Pure treat.

Beautiful old growth forest. Nice quiet campground. Bathrooms were good though they should install a rack to put toiletries on while one is using the wide basin sinks. Simple showers would also have been nice either here or at Rialto Beach. Great campground!

We stay here every year! The campsites, facilities and location are fantastic and always a welcome home away from home for the week. Sunsets on Rialto Beach are extraordinary on a clear day. Enjoy!
