GeneralMora Road and Rialto Beach ConstructionIn 2019, severe winter flooding along the Quillayute River eroded the riverbank at mile post 1.25 on Mora Road. Temporary riprap was installed as an emergency measure, but a permanent fix is needed to protect long-term access to Rialto Beach. These repairs will fortify the road against continued river migration and flooding events.Between April and July 7, construction work will require a short single‑lane traffic section near milepost 1.25. The Dickey Boat Launch and trailer parking area will be closed for construction staging. No construction will occur during the Fourth of July weekend. From July 8–Oct. 5, construction crews will need to close both lanes to pedestrian, bicycle, and vehicle traffic beyond the Mora Campground. Rialto Beach will not be accessible via Mora Road during this construction period. Mora Campground will remain open.Visitors should consider alternative beaches, such as Ruby Beach, during the construction period. Please visit our Alerts & Conditions and Current Road Conditions pages for updates as construction dates change.

What Guests Are Saying
Mora Campground is highly praised for its beautiful, well-maintained sites nestled in a lush coastal forest, offering privacy and a peaceful atmosphere. Its proximity to Rialto Beach and various hiking trails enhances the camping experience, making it an ideal base for exploring Olympic National Park. While some facilities, particularly bathrooms, could use more attention, and there are no showers available, the overall charm and natural beauty of the campground make it a favorite for many campers.

Loved Mora Campground! Deep in shade of pines, you are as close to La Push as you can get because of COVID right now. One of the few places still closed. I walked to Rialto Beach from there and the Hole in the Wall hike. It was definitely a highlight of my journey and the pictures!!!

This campground is great. It is beautiful and quiet. The facilities are very clean. It is close to local beaches... Rialto, Ruby, etc. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because we had the handicapped site which has zero privacy and is directly across from the bathroom. Site 21-B is basically the center of the town square and you are on full display for everyone as they go to the bathroom or get dish water. Most of the other sites were private and looked great, particularly the outer loops. Really lovely campground.

We had such a great time! Our site said that there wasn't room for a tent, but we were still able to put up our large family tent and had no issues at all!

The campground visually was very nice with lots of trees and plenty of shade. The loops are all paved with mostly smallish sites. There was so much shade that my solar received very little charge throughout the day. We ran our generator around 8:30am and 5pm for about 30 minutes each to keep a minimum charge. Our neighbors did the same. Overall, the park was quiet, especially after sundown.
Current update: Water is only available if you do NOT need a screw on hose connection. We asked the on duty ranger about a screw on water supply a threaded access point and was told they didn't have one, and if that's what I needed I could "go into town to the local hardware store to buy the required connection". I was shocked at his response! This was the experience we had with all park staff while staying at the Mora location. Our experience at Mora was dramatically different than the friendly and helpful rangers we encountered just a few days earlier at another Washington State campground. I don't understand the unfriendliness. And for $5 they could have altered their water hose to accommodate any park guest. The dump station was in working order.
The nearby Rialto Beach is a great location to beach-walk with an abundance of interesting driftwood. Parking is a challenge around mid-day, but we found space in the morning and later in the day.
Hurricane Ridge is about a 90 minute drive but well worth the experience and the view. You can select from various trail hikes or just enjoy the amazing view right from the parking lots.
Hoh Rainforest is about 45-60 minutes from Mora campground. Arrive early (before 10am) to avoid the miles long line at the park entrance and waiting for parking. We enjoyed hiking on several of the short loop trails as well as hiking up the Hoh River trail a mile or two. Overall, the loop trails and their informative signs were a great introduction to the location and forest habitat. The short hike up the Hoh River trail was only to say we did it.

Beautiful and quiet campground. Beach access just down the road. Toilets were clean. Many places to buy firewood along the way to the campsite.

The campground was a perfect location for Rialto Beach. Not many trails to meander through with kids but who needs that when you have the beach and Hole in the Wall to easily access.
The sites are decent, ours may have had some old human feces still present but otherwise a decent spot to stay with families when the beach is your focus.
