GeneralMora Road and Rialto Beach ConstructionIn 2019, severe winter flooding along the Quillayute River eroded the riverbank at mile post 1.25 on Mora Road. Temporary riprap was installed as an emergency measure, but a permanent fix is needed to protect long-term access to Rialto Beach. These repairs will fortify the road against continued river migration and flooding events.Between April and July 7, construction work will require a short single‑lane traffic section near milepost 1.25. The Dickey Boat Launch and trailer parking area will be closed for construction staging. No construction will occur during the Fourth of July weekend. From July 8–Oct. 5, construction crews will need to close both lanes to pedestrian, bicycle, and vehicle traffic beyond the Mora Campground. Rialto Beach will not be accessible via Mora Road during this construction period. Mora Campground will remain open.Visitors should consider alternative beaches, such as Ruby Beach, during the construction period. Please visit our Alerts & Conditions and Current Road Conditions pages for updates as construction dates change.

What Guests Are Saying
Mora Campground is highly praised for its beautiful, well-maintained sites nestled in a lush coastal forest, offering privacy and a peaceful atmosphere. Its proximity to Rialto Beach and various hiking trails enhances the camping experience, making it an ideal base for exploring Olympic National Park. While some facilities, particularly bathrooms, could use more attention, and there are no showers available, the overall charm and natural beauty of the campground make it a favorite for many campers.

Such a beautiful campground! It was very quiet, and our site was very private. We loved the feeling of camping in a rain forest, and we can’t wait to go back!

WE LOOKED FORWARD TO SEEING RIALTO BEACH BUT WE WERE NOT ALLOWED TO DRIVE THERE WITH THE R.V. AT THE TIME WE CAMPED AT MORA. THEREFORE WE WERE DISSAPOINTED AS WE COULD NOT WALK THE DISTANCE SINCE WE HAVE DISABILITIES PREVENTING US TO WALK THAT FAR.

The site map did not list my space as handicap. While it would have been excellent if you're in a wheelchair, for me it was horrible. I felt like I was camped in a fishbowl. The path to the bathroom directly led to my tent site, so everyone's flashlight shone directly into my tent. That combined with the sound of flushing toilet's led to a sleepless night. I left after one night.

Loved this campground, wish we could have stayed longer! There are a couple of trails directly from the campground that were amazing, so many different fungi and mosses. Close to the beautiful beach as well.
