GeneralMora Road and Rialto Beach ConstructionIn 2019, severe winter flooding along the Quillayute River eroded the riverbank at mile post 1.25 on Mora Road. Temporary riprap was installed as an emergency measure, but a permanent fix is needed to protect long-term access to Rialto Beach. These repairs will fortify the road against continued river migration and flooding events.Between April and July 7, construction work will require a short single‑lane traffic section near milepost 1.25. The Dickey Boat Launch and trailer parking area will be closed for construction staging. No construction will occur during the Fourth of July weekend. From July 8–Oct. 5, construction crews will need to close both lanes to pedestrian, bicycle, and vehicle traffic beyond the Mora Campground. Rialto Beach will not be accessible via Mora Road during this construction period. Mora Campground will remain open.Visitors should consider alternative beaches, such as Ruby Beach, during the construction period. Please visit our Alerts & Conditions and Current Road Conditions pages for updates as construction dates change.

What Guests Are Saying
Mora Campground is highly praised for its beautiful, well-maintained sites nestled in a lush coastal forest, offering privacy and a peaceful atmosphere. Its proximity to Rialto Beach and various hiking trails enhances the camping experience, making it an ideal base for exploring Olympic National Park. While some facilities, particularly bathrooms, could use more attention, and there are no showers available, the overall charm and natural beauty of the campground make it a favorite for many campers.

Very nice campground. Birds in the early morning hours is amazing. Nice bike ride to the beach. Place was clean. No soap in the bathrooms, don't know why that was. We stayed for two nights.

Most sites are small, have limited parking ability and are right on the road without much buffer. The camp is well maintained, however, and the trees are enormous and beautiful. Restrooms are clean. Rialto Beach is just 2 miles away.

We had a great time! Went hiking to Third Beach one day and the next day went to Rialto Beach and hiked north. It is a really beautiful area and the campground is close but you have to drive to the beach or trailhead.

Unfortunately we had to cut our trip short and never made it to Mora. But the reservation system worked well

Mora was a beautiful, quiet campground with great tree coverage that made our site feel a little more secluded. The bathrooms and facilities were all in great shape and it was conveniently located to explore Rialto beach and other parts of Olympic National Park.
