We stayed in lower loop #65. The campground was clean and in good shape. Nice shade about 50% of the time. The lake was mostly full and very few people were using the marina. The only noise at night were the nearby coyotes.

Bumping Lake is a beautiful alpine lake in remote wilderness. The drive along the Little Naches River from the east was incredible, from Naches to the Bumping River Road turnout. Lots of campsites along the final stretch of road. We stayed in Site 056 of the Lower campground, which had a great access to the water in our "backyard." The sites are all spacious and pretty secluded. It was Memorial Day Weekend but many sites were unoccupied, we made reservations ahead of time but anyone coming last minute would have no problem finding an empty site to stay at.
Next time I would love to bring kayaks, as there are many cool little islands just offshore that are worth exploring.

I am hoping the fresh water line system throughout the UBL Campground Area is repaired and back online for summer 2024.

I didn't know that the Bumping Lake campground has no water. It was very inconvenient.

Mt Rainer camping spots were all reserved and the Recreation website indicated Bumping Lake camping was available and showed only 16 miles from Mt Rainer, I should have checked because it was more like 35 miles and 50 miles to the end of Sunrise Road.
The camping spots were very spacious and far apart from each other. There was a vaulted toilet which I didn't care for. The water spigot was an old-fashioned type that took a lot of effort to get water out. It was a beautiful ride down the valley into our campsite. The lake was interesting with all the tree stumps in the water which made swimming odd at times. overall I would give it a 2.5 star

Dragged my boat up there after being told I could get it in the water (18' 90hp) found out the water level was too low. Need some kind of up to date water level indication on these irrigation lakes. Otherwise the campground was nice and quiet (weekdays). May go back in the spring when there is actual water in the lake and not a bunch of stumps

Nice campground! Beautiful views and the lake was nice to swim in. So many baby frogs! Try not to squish them when you walk on the beach.

Great campground. Lake was populated with a ton of tiny frogs that my 5 year old loved.
