About Kettle Falls Locust Grove Group Site

The facility is 0.25 miles away from the main Kettle Falls Campground, which has a multi-lane boat launch. It is popular for groups of boaters, fishermen and water sports enthusiasts. The Kettle Falls area is rich in history of American Indians as well as the fur trade; campers can learn more at a park visitor center less than 10 miles away. Lake Roosevelt is a 130-mile lake on the Columbia River created by the Grand Coulee Dam. Named after President Franklin D. Roosevelt, it is part of the Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area and managed by the National Park Service.

What Guests Are Saying

Kettle Falls Locust Grove Group Site is an excellent choice for family gatherings, offering proximity to fishing, swimming, walking trails, and a baseball field, with favorable weather and minimal mosquitoes during certain times of the year. However, visitors during the 4th of July reported significant mosquito issues due to nearby swampy areas, which can detract from the experience. Overall, the site provides a spacious and relaxing environment, but timing is crucial to avoid the bug problem.

Perfect place for our large family reunion! So close to fishing, swimming, walking trails and the baseball field. We had no mosquitoes and perfect weather for the 4 days we stayed. Can't wait for next year! Same time same place!

We chose to stay at this campground for the 4th of July and it was a big mistake. We were immediately attacked by swarms of mosquitoes any time we stepped out of our vehicle or RV. They were EVERYWHERE. The area sits by a swamp-like field that surrounds the campground, and even Deet wouldn't keep the mosquitos away. Do NOT camp here once they raise the water levels in Lake Roosevelt ( around the 4th of July) and this bug cycle starts. It's a beautiful area but a TERRIBLE mosquito problem. We left early due to this and will NOT be camping here again.

Finding a camp site, reserving a site, registering and check in using the online system is a complete failure. After talking with a very friendly camp host after 8 pm and after trying to use the online system for an hour and a half I found out the online info was completely wrong. According to online there were only 1 group site left. According to host half the park was open. On the information board at the campground cost was listed at 25 is. It ended up costing 55 upon checkout.

On the positive side, the Vault bathrooms were extremely clean and well stocked. The site was well laid out with plenty of parking.

The Kettle Falls Locust Grove group campsites were just perfect for our family get together. We rented both site A and B and there was plenty of room. Especially liked the gazebo.

We enjoyed camping here with the exception of nightly homeless squatters who slept in vehicles near the site we paid for. The state patrol and park rangers drove through periodically and even cleared people who were illegally camped out in the morning. We also had a gas can stolen from outside one of the campers parked closer to the road, so my advice is park closer to the picnic gazebo and stay vigilant as always!

After a couple of years of Locust Grove being closed due to COVID restrictions, our club enjoyed returning for our annual fishing and camping weekend. We even beat the hatch of the mosquitoes this year. By the last evening, we saw a couple skeeters so it won't be long. Water and electric were working, and the restrooms were as clean as you can expect for a pit toilet.
