About Kalaloch

Kalaloch Campground is on the reservation system May 15, 2026 - September 20, 2026. Important changes to the reservation booking windows: To better serve visitors, Kalaloch Campground will be releasing campsites in a series of three staggered block releases by loop. These block releases will be 6 months in advance, two weeks in advance, and 4 days in advance. A and B loop campsites will be available for reservation 6 months in advance.C and D loop campsites will be available for reservations two weeks in advance.E and F loop campsites will be available for reservations 4 days in advance. Please be aware that A, D, and E Loops have experienced substantial erosion damage to the road and campsites along the ocean bluff. For this reason, there are a number of ocean bluff campsites permanently closed.During the rest of the year, the campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis. During winter (November - April), some campground loops are closed, but camping is still available. Kalaloch Campground is located on the southwest coast of the Olympic Peninsula in Olympic National Park, on a high bluff adjacent to the Pacific Ocean. Although campsites are not directly on the beach, several of them overlook the water and there is beach access within the facility. The campground is large and set amidst a peaceful, coastal forest that thrives on the region's high annual rainfall. Rain or shine, it is one of the most visited areas of the park.

What Guests Are Saying

Kalaloch Campground offers a stunning location close to the beach, with beautiful scenery and a pleasant atmosphere. Many reviewers praised the clean facilities and the helpful lodge staff, who provided exceptional assistance during their stay. However, some noted issues with noise from Highway 101, limited bathroom facilities, and difficulties in securing preferred campsites, suggesting that while the campground is beautiful, improvements in maintenance and accessibility are needed. Overall, visitors enjoyed their experience and expressed a desire to return.

Campsites are wonderful but I was surprised paved parts were not cleaned off between visitors. This park is very similar to GREENPOINT campground on Vancouver Island, which we frequent so I couldn’t help comparing the upkeep.
Also, the one large bathroom has been out for months - a stairway to the beach the same. I found it amusing that someone with more lumber and nails to further block the access when he could be repairing it instead?
Walking north to the end of the beach at low tide is a must.
Perhaps a sign that says “Please don’t chase the birds on the beach” might stop people's kids from doing this. Also need NO OVERNIGHT PARKING on overlook to beach at area A. Totally full at 7 am.
Staff were very kind. Will definitely return to this beautiful area.

The beach here is stunning and there is easy access, but some of the spots on the campsite are right by the road. Traffic can drive by pretty fast including trucks which can be disruptive.

This site was a in a great location, friendly folks around, good hiking, beach walks, and access to the tree of life. I would bring bigger tent stakes, the ground is very hard to get tent spikes in. Highly recommend this lovely campground!

Beautiful beach with wonderful sunsets. We used a tent spot at campground and enjoyed grilling steaks on the fire. The lodge about 1/4 mi away serves pretty good lunches. Bathroom facilities at the campground are just OK.

Wow! The view of Kalaloch beach from our campsite was amazing. This beach is so incredible. The campground itself is well maintained. Wished there was a little more privacy between our site (D25) and the site directly behind us but other than that, this was one of our absolute favorite campgrounds!
