If you’re looking to take long walks on a sandy beach, this is a great location. However, the campground was a disappointment. We never found a restroom where everything worked. Years of blaming the budget does not justify this level of long term neglect. Take your travel dollars elsewhere.

Great stay, right on the beautiful Kalalochi beach. The camp was well kept up with including the bathrooms. It's also 10min drive to Ruby beach and about 50min to Hoh Rain Forest.

A beautiful campsite with easy, quick access to the beach. The campsite I had was a bit close to the highway so you could hear big trucks passing through the night. But it was a very busy holiday week so I was honestly glad to get what I could get !

Our first night there we were right on the rd directly across from the rd the logging trucks enter the 101 from. It was so loud most of the night it was miserable to sleep.(tent). Next day we waited in line at 11am to get a site since we didn’t have a reservation. We got a site right across from the beach and it was so much quieter and you could hear the ocean. The beach was fantastic. Huge thanks to the staff who made an effort to reach no shows so sites could be released to the many who were waiting in line. First time I’ve ever witnessed that. Bravo!!

Arrival & departure
- The Kalaloch Ranger Station offers information during summer; contact them for hours.
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
Fees & deposits
- A valid Olympic National Park pass is required for camping and recreation at Kalaloch. The Washington State Park Discover Pass is not accepted.
Safety & rules
- There is a 7-day maximum stay limit during the reservation season, and a collective 21-day limit for all Olympic National Park campgrounds. Kalaloch is open year-round on a first-come, first-serve basis outside the reservation season.
- Use caution when swimming due to drifting logs; do not play on beach logs, especially during high tide.
- Always check tide charts when hiking; some areas may be impassable at high tide.
- Riptides are common; swimming is at your own risk.
Site capacity
- Most sites at Kalaloch cannot accommodate large RVs or trailers; check site details before reserving.
Vehicles & parking
- One RV and one tow vehicle are allowed per site if they fit in the driveway and do not damage vegetation.
- A maximum of two passenger vehicles is allowed per site, provided they fit in the driveway and do not damage vegetation.
General
- Campsites with ocean views fill quickly; book early. Outside of the reservation season, Kalaloch campground is open year round on a first-come, first-served basis (weather permitting).
