The campsite was big enough for trailer and vehicle. But we were disappointed that there was no water available in D, E or F. To get water we had to drive to the other side of the campground. We stopped at section A. I went into the ladies restroom. It was disgusting and only one stall available. The restrooms in our Section E was maintained.

We loved our stay! A family of five, three kids (13m, 3years, 5years). We stayed at campsite D002 which was a dream! Really spacious, lots of trees around for the kids to play, the bathroom a short walk away, access to the beach after crossing the parking lot. We spend a lot of time simply on the campsite because our kiddos had so much fun playing between the trees and sitting around the campfire, and also down at the beach, the Tree of Life is right there! Lots of big log trees on the beach for climbing, the beach is sandy so sand castles were a must. The next day we drove to Hoh Rainforest which was about an hour drive, where we did the Spruce Nature Trail (1.2miles) which was so beautiful and easy enough for the kids. Make sure to ask for the Ocean steward and Junior Ranger programs at the Ranger station, if you complete it you get a badge which is just such a special and cool souvenir! On the way back we stopped at Beach 4. Make sure to check the tide schedule to come during low tide to see some beautiful tide pools. Getting on the beach is a little tricky (for kids)as the access point to the beach is a big rock which you can either climb down on a rope or navigate your way down the rock. It’s not hard hard but something to keep in mind.

Policies & Rules
Arrival & departure
- The Kalaloch Ranger Station offers information during summer; contact them for hours.
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
Fees & deposits
- A valid Olympic National Park pass is required for camping and recreation at Kalaloch. The Washington State Park Discover Pass is not accepted.
Safety & rules
- There is a 7-day maximum stay limit during the reservation season, and a collective 21-day limit for all Olympic National Park campgrounds. Kalaloch is open year-round on a first-come, first-serve basis outside the reservation season.
- Use caution when swimming due to drifting logs; do not play on beach logs, especially during high tide.
- Always check tide charts when hiking; some areas may be impassable at high tide.
- Riptides are common; swimming is at your own risk.
Site capacity
- Most sites at Kalaloch cannot accommodate large RVs or trailers; check site details before reserving.
Vehicles & parking
- One RV and one tow vehicle are allowed per site if they fit in the driveway and do not damage vegetation.
- A maximum of two passenger vehicles is allowed per site, provided they fit in the driveway and do not damage vegetation.
General
- Campsites with ocean views fill quickly; book early. Outside of the reservation season, Kalaloch campground is open year round on a first-come, first-served basis (weather permitting).

Fires & fuel
- Gathering wood is prohibited; firewood can be purchased at Kalaloch Lodge nearby.
