This is a great campground, I’ve camped here since 1954! I’m aware of the pressure of so much usage. The National parks are doing what they can with a limited budget! I’m not sure how the reservations system can be fixed but there should be a more severe penalty for not canceling reservations?

Kalaloch is beautiful. There are trails, endless long beachwalks, the campsites feel pretty private (although the sites near Hgwy101 are subject to the occasional sound of trucks passing). I haven’t been to all of the parks in Washington, but this one is a standout. The rangers were very helpful and even tempered. We will be back.

Kalaloch is beautiful. There are trails, endless long beachwalks, the campsites feel pretty private (although the sites near Hgwy101 are subject to the occasional sound of trucks passing). I haven’t been to all of the parks in Washington, but this one is a standout. The rangers were very helpful and even tempered. We will be back.

Absolutely spectacular site, with amazing sunset views and the crashing sound of the ocean to lull you to sleep at night. Bathrooms left a lot to be desired in this loop...one toilet was out of water, and the other was far from clean and had a line. But the direct Pacific Ocean views honestly made up for a LOT.
We fit a 21" camper van plus a 4-person tent on the site, and it was tight adding a car horizontally across the driveway opening. The site immediately next to us was considerably bigger with a quite big "side yard." No complaints, though. I would joyfully have stayed here 2 weeks if I could have gotten the spots.

We stayed three nights and really enjoyed our site. Most of the sites are very nice and all within easy walk to beach access. We lucked out with excellent weather. We did a day trip up to the Hoh River Rain Forest, and to Rialto Beach - lots to do in this region, including long walks on the beautiful beach right at the campground.
I very much appreciated that there is a dump station at this campground ($10).

We stayed three nights and really enjoyed our site. Most of the sites are very nice and all within easy walk to beach access. We lucked out with excellent weather. We did a day trip up to the Hoh River Rain Forest, and to Rialto Beach - lots to do in this region, including long walks on the beautiful beach right at the campground.

Policies & Rules
Arrival & departure
- The Kalaloch Ranger Station offers information during summer; contact them for hours.
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
Fees & deposits
- A valid Olympic National Park pass is required for camping and recreation at Kalaloch. The Washington State Park Discover Pass is not accepted.
Safety & rules
- There is a 7-day maximum stay limit during the reservation season, and a collective 21-day limit for all Olympic National Park campgrounds. Kalaloch is open year-round on a first-come, first-serve basis outside the reservation season.
- Use caution when swimming due to drifting logs; do not play on beach logs, especially during high tide.
- Always check tide charts when hiking; some areas may be impassable at high tide.
- Riptides are common; swimming is at your own risk.
Site capacity
- Most sites at Kalaloch cannot accommodate large RVs or trailers; check site details before reserving.
Vehicles & parking
- One RV and one tow vehicle are allowed per site if they fit in the driveway and do not damage vegetation.
- A maximum of two passenger vehicles is allowed per site, provided they fit in the driveway and do not damage vegetation.
General
- Campsites with ocean views fill quickly; book early. Outside of the reservation season, Kalaloch campground is open year round on a first-come, first-served basis (weather permitting).

Fires & fuel
- Gathering wood is prohibited; firewood can be purchased at Kalaloch Lodge nearby.
